Katu @katu.cat · 09/02/2026Everyone’s annoyed with Discord, I think we should all go back to landline phones and we memorise each other’s numbers (I actually set up this phone so my friends can call me) 2193
Katu @katu.cat · 29/01/2026Or you can take the phone apart and probably do something easier that way. I prefer to keep the phone intact 000
Katu @katu.cat · 29/01/2026Directly driving a phone is actually kinda complicated, but there are cheap little boards which do the hardest work for you (and can be powered + controlled directly with cheap dev boards e.g. esp32). Check out Silvertel AG1171 + “The Phone Friend” project on Hackaday 200
Katu @katu.cat · 29/01/2026One of my toxic traits is that I think of a software/hardware idea and go “yeah I could probably make that”. And this time it’s to make my own adapter 😅 020
Katu @katu.cat · 29/01/2026I’m using a device called an Analog Telephone Adapter, it connects to a SIP (Internet phone) server. I also want to do similar assistant setup, but I think a different way of connecting the phone might work better (don’t have to dial any number; no need for SIP server). 210
Katu @katu.cat · 26/01/2026I got this cool old phone and I’m gonna connect it to the internet. Call me at 5288 (KATU). Who wants to join my furry telephone network? 2140

Katu @katu.cat · 15/12/2025I did count the curry, I’m sorry. But I actually didn’t count the 0th time I cooked chili, so all together it will still be 20th time, so am not liar 😌 010

Katu @katu.cat · 15/09/2023I love when songs remind me of certain times/places. Just started playing an album I used to regularly listen to on the way to work in Tokyo, took me right back to sweaty Yamanote line train 040
