3 x study of a subject! One of my favourite ways to study from reference, build a visual library and train memory. The first sketch is always just a copy of the reference, second is a study of the study and third from memory. #characterdesign #sketch #drawingpractice

A demo sheet from my character design for animation workshop I held the other week at Turku UAS. Notes & observations on the structure and design of eyes and eyebrows. The one thing that I think gives most life and personality to the eye area and expressions is asymmetry!

The trailer has dropped!! Wolf King coming to Netflix on March 20th! Was there from the very first pitch stages, working as an AD / Character Designer, before the show got greenlit. So exciting to see it come through and how stunning it looks. Main cast character designs by yours truly 😉✨

Remember that you have a voice as an artist, you have a history and opinions, aspirations. AI image generator doesn’t have that. It lacks specificity and depth that can only be expressed through the human experience.

Uma’s found a quiet moment during midwinter festivities. That or she is just ignoring the mayhem around her. #sketch #ghibli #characterdesign

Lineup of the siblings with names! Growing up I loved the Peanuts comics & animated show and thought it'd be fun to do a homage of Pig-Pen with a character that's permanently filthy. I'm undecided if the lot should be quintuplets or twins + triplets. #characterdesign #animation #ghibli #conceptart

I'm starting a little keyframe series exploring five witchling siblings and their daily moments. Imagining what shenanigans this troop of toddlers with some simple magical powers could get up to 😅 Felt like I needed more Ghibli inspired stories in my life! #keyframe #conceptart #ghibli #animation
