Honestly, this is one reason I don't have kids. Food is a glorious thing, full of taste, fragrance, and visual beauty. I love the history, nostalgia and cultural significance of dishes and the community brought together over a meal. But do we really need to figure out how to do it every damn day?

I remember as a kid thinking there were two separate words: "intrigged," which I heard people say, but also "intri-gyooed," which I read in books, mainly Nancy Drew, who was frequently intri-gyooed. It was a huge eureka moment when I realized they were the same word. Also a youreeka moment.

Awwwww, they're so sweet. It's still a huge challenge getting Patti into a carrier. She is sweet and likes to be petted, but not to be picked up. We've had to postpone many a vet appt because she slipped away and hid when we tried to get her in the carrier.

We first found her sheltering from the snow in a cold frame. She outsmarted our traps until summer, so she spent at least one Ohio winter outside. She was already spayed, meaning she once had a home, but no one responded to our many posts. That was 4 years ago.
