Kat Lynx (Commissions OPEN!) @katlynx.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Yes, and I forever wondered how the series would've turned under Koizumi. OoT combat has a lot of nuance that goes unused except for the Dark Link battle (cheese aside) and IIRC Nintendo Dream's old interview with Koizumi and Miyamoto stated the game's dificulty was lowered for the final release.

Kat Lynx (Commissions OPEN!) @katlynx.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

But... But I do. I do the rando on Ship on the regular. I have the checks burnt into my skull. But I still disagree, playing the 3D Zeldas back to back to back, WW and TP are the easiest, with TP being the absolute worst in "nothingburger" dificulty. Nothing there engaging. We are recording an episode this week, and its a huge "real world" news week with the huge court case news, so we want to invite our listeners and anyone outside our sphere like to ask questions, and participate with us. Feel free to share this, respond, or email us at Questions@stcosmocast.com

If challenge is the wrong term, thenvengaging. Let's not pull the "you don't play enough games" when I'm already S ranking the Mega Man Zero series, one sit the early Castlevania entries and the miopia of this fandom when it comes to Zeldas faults is already an issue I carry for the past 16 years.

100

Kat Lynx (Commissions OPEN!) @katlynx.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

And thats the depressing thing, OoT and Majora were the last time this series was engaging or had a semblance of challenge in 3D. If Zelda can't have any substance to its gameplay anymore, then what are we doing here? Why is it a game series and not a show if challenge and engagement isnt allowed?

100

Kat Lynx (Commissions OPEN!) @katlynx.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I'm not sure if this really "combos real" and more "watering down the combat". TP's biggest issue is that you can stunlock enemies, so mashing B just werks, making the combat in the Zelda series more of an obligation than an actual engaging element. I hope I'm wrong.

People complain about the Factory Stage due to the visibility, fair, but personally I find the boss, Guard Orotic, to be the true bane of that stage. It's so easy for it to hit you hard, and it to take long to expose its weakpoint. #megaman
