From #STLCards PR: Jordan Walker was removed in the third inning of the Cardinals split-squad game against the Nationals with left knee pain. He will undergo further evaluation. I am not in Jupiter this week, but it appears Walker tweaked his knee tracking a fly ball in the bottom of the second.

There have been no talks of an extension, Helsley (a free agent after this year) said, though he understands how the looming changes in leadership factor into these decisions. Still, "I would love to stay here. ... “I would definitely be open to (an extension), but it has to be both ways."

One thing I will point out: The Cardinals won 83 games last year with the second-worst offense in the NL (yes, the bullpen was a huge part of this). But if they perform roughly the same as last year and just hit better, I could see them competing in the division.

#STLCards 2025 arbitration salaries, per a source. Ryan Helsley - $8.2 million JoJo Romero - $2.26 million John King - $1,605,000 The team did not settle with Lars Nootbaar, Brendan Donovan or Andre Pallante. All are eligible for arbitration for the first time.
