I mean, I didn't want to assume...

KatieGeeks @katiegeeks.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

the song is solid on its own... and then there's skarsgård writhing slinkily all over the place...

Missi says: "how is this a question? Everybody should always jeongcheol"

KatieGeeks @katiegeeks.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

ah yes, the "huh, i guess they cancelled the world series this year" feeling.

Oh, definitely get the feeling this particular fence is a regular call...

One of these days I will post my Seventeen-Ocean's 11 recast

020

He's about to con somebody out of something... and they aren't going to realize it until MONTHS down the road.

100

currently 57 browser tab on my phone (and 36 standalone apps that could be websites), and probably 10 or so on my personal laptop which I don't use often anymore. On an average workday, i'm running 20+ tabs at any given time on the work computer, but those get closed out frequently

000

I feel like it will probably be much more chill. But depending on the crowd Missi and I might get you all in and then fuck off to another exhibit 🤣 (There are going to be several ongoing i'll be be happy to revisit)

I have seen namjoon's art collection. I will be seeing the exhibit at least one more time, and I am hopeful that a future visit will be slightly less crowded. I knew what we were getting into going today, but it definitely felt too crowded for me to really dawdle and absorb.

190

At this point, I fully believe that the "numbers" section of any style guide is just a bunch of editors trying to see how much they can fuck with people.

070

Wow, this feels very much for you specifically.

010

They are definitely "beginner problems," but the beginners are now deeply resistant to being corrected. There was a whole entire round of discourse a few months back when people got VERY MAD about being gently reminded to start a new paragraph when a new person speaks.

230

Truly. it is "the boarding door on your connection might be closing at the same time you're first flight is pulling up yo the gate" short.

010

I mean, if I were willing to swap to coach, the change could have reduced the cost by $400... but I value my comfort and sanity (and the benefits of not sitting next to somebody who's made about being next to somebody flying-while-fat).

120

And honestly, probably none of it will matter... because flying out of Upstate NY through Chicago in December means good odds of needing to rebooking for weather cancellations come the day-of anyway.

100

Nah, I'm rebooking for the extra. (the change difference is only that much because I'm booked first class and am not willing to take the other option with a 4+ hour layover and home after midnight. That one would only be $4 extra).

100

Just got an alert of a flight change for my return trip after Christmas. My beautifully reasonable 80-minute layover in O'Hare is now... 36 minutes. If I want to change it to something where I'm NOT absolutely guaranteed to miss my connection, it's a 3 hour layover and an extra $93.

810

I mean, i believe it, but also it very much looks like there was some last second restraint on Nicholas's behalf in not leaning down to take a bite...

020

I'm not exactly lacking for mysteries on my to-read pile either. Basically, as ever, I'm suffering embarrassment of riches decision paralysis.

050

Finally finished reading the first Masie Dobbs mystery last night... enjoyed it, but not leaping for book 2. Not sure what I do want to read next though. I've got 500+ non fiction books in my library ebook to-read list, but I'm also still feeling more in the mystery zone.

But it will be an entertaining disaster!

000

Did they check your iron, too?

100

Still unacceptable! Cruel and unusual punishment!

What is WRONG with people?!

100

Oh no! Maybe Wayback machine to the rescue?

Sure, go ahead and create a specific business where you need it! But know what neighborhood it would likely be in!

The amount of time I have spent on street-view maps and specific place websites and looking at what hotels and restaurants currently exist where for part of a fic where the actual meat of the story is about them BEING IN OUTERSPACE.

Truly, there has got to be a better way to check blood pressure.

I sleep best when it's between like 58 and 63 and I can snuggle down under heavy blankets. The radiator in my room has been fully turned off for MONTHS.

000

Success! I am now horizontal in the sleeping place waiting hopefully for my fan to get my room below 70º... now to read for somewhere between ten minutes and three hours

YUP!! and right now California's small child care providers are losing enrollment to free transitional kindergarten programs because even parents who would rather keep their kids in family home care are going where they can get free care

120

(But I am glad you made it safely)

100

I did! Because I was served an Instagram reel about this very topic about two days ago! It's horrifying!!!!

Ehhhh, seems mostly normal?

100

Depends? What kind of word counts are we talking about here?

it was so great! and I also really loved the "Also, here's how a bunch of other people captured venice" approach to have the contrasts
