K. Morrissey @katiedidnt.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Yeah, I agree entirely. The issue is more with the powers that be. :P (I haven't really looked into the costs though. If it's super low, that might be more compelling.) 100

K. Morrissey @katiedidnt.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Has anyone out there used Harmonize's social reading feature in a 200+ student class? I can't see a way to make their workflow feasible with 200+ students. I think I'm just giving up. 100
K. Morrissey @katiedidnt.bsky.social · 15/08/2026My university has discontinued its use of Perusall and its breaking my heart. I loved how well-designed it was, that it incentivized reading, and how I got to have comment conversations with students in larger classes. It's been "replaced" with Harmonize, but it's not even close to the same. 120
K. Morrissey @katiedidnt.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Oh man. Putting everything on Itch on day and having it come down right after sounds so frustrating. Your example about the story content on Patreon is also fascinating. It's amazing (and exasperating) to hear how haphazardly these policies are applied. I'm glad the website option has been viable! 030
K. Morrissey @katiedidnt.bsky.social · 06/08/2026I'm mostly trying to get a sense of the types of projects affected &, since I study romance, particularly curious to see if romance-type creators are being impacted. It's really interesting to me that itch.io is blocking you & Steam isn't! I would have assumed Steam would be stricter. That's wild. 010
K. Morrissey @katiedidnt.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Thanks for replying! How has the website been working for you? Are you still able to offer subscription type content and charge fees? Or did you need to eliminate some of those features? I'm guessing it must impact your audience/reach somewhat? 120
K. Morrissey @katiedidnt.bsky.social · 05/08/2026That's really interesting that you're getting warnings from Kickstarter. I'm not surprised, but it's still useful to know. Just curious. Is there any pattern you see with Patreon? For example, is it more text or more images that they try to shut down? 120
K. Morrissey @katiedidnt.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Yes, that tends to be a big problem. They'll say they ban pornography (which is very vague) or they'll specify that its content that is directly designed to be sexually gratifying (which isn't much clearer). However, who determines what those things mean/are? Also, how? It's a very flawed process. 020
