Perfect day for a stroll along beautiful Lake Ontario.
In the foreground, we see a sandy beach with a low wooden fence running along it — not meant to keep anyone out but quite perfect for hanging wet towels. Beyond the beach, beautiful Lake Ontario spans as far as the eye can see. It’s a windy day and small waves are cresting and lapping at the shoreline. A Canadian flag rises out the water a few metres offshore, its pole securely mounted on some shallow rocks below the surface. Overhead, a seagull flies across the slightly overcast sky. Off to the left, where sand meets water, the tip of a white canoe just pokes into view.

The LCBO is one of the world’s largest purchasers of alcoholic beverages.
From the LCBO website:

“Response To U.S. Tariffs: Q&A

For the good of Ontario. For the good of Canada.

In response to U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods, U.S. products are no longer available for purchase online or in-store until further notice.

Looking for an alternative? Ask our in-store team about our extensive range of Ontario- and Canada-made wine, beer, cider, spirits and ready-to-drink coolers and cocktails. You can also check out our list of Canadian and Ontario-produced products.“

The view from Canada. Imma keep calling this body of water the Gulf of Mexico, thanks.

I’ll take it. 😄
Screen shot of a post from the Merriam-Webster’s Bluesky account. The text reads: “Take a screenshot of this GIF, and whichever new word you land on is YOUR word for 2025.
Godspeed.” Underneath the text is a GIF of a square white background in the centre of which seemingly random words in black font appear one at a time and in such rapid succession that it’s almost impossible to read them.

The highlight of Day 2 of the #MaRSClimateImpact conference was hearing featured speaker, @johnvaillant.bsky.social, author of Fire Weather, talk about the unprecedented threat posed to our forests and our communities by climate-change fuelled wild fires. Very sobering presentation.

Interesting panel session at the 2024 #MaRSClimateImpact conference on “Plug and play: The expansive options for EV charging”, moderated by @tylerhamilton.bsky.social. My takeaway: for residential buildings, Level 2 chargers may be overrated; people care more about cost and convenience of access.

I was wondering about that… Here’s the DM I got. When I replied that I don’t trade, the impersonator blocked me. 🤣
