On this day 70 years ago, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery bus. On display at UT Libraries are these sketches done by Beauford Delaney, which precede his Rosa Parks series. They include phrases like "Ain't getting up" and "I will not be moved."

I finished my fellowship position for the Beauford Delaney Papers Collection last week. This part of the exhibit is one of my contributions. One case highlights his sketches that precede his Rosa Parks series, while the other than explores his relational geographies in Knoxville, NYC, and Paris.
