PSS: Whew! Everyone, if you are planning to get your flu vaccine, and haven’t already done so, do so asap. I had mine, and have still been fighting 102 fever, etc., for almost a week. Stay safe out there. Also, if I owe you a fb, I’ll get to it in a day or so when I feel better. Thank you.

I spoke with an 80 year old woman today and she told me how excited she is because trump is going to fire every government employee because they’re all useless and incompetent. I don’t know how to respond to such a blanket statement. Do I ask how she’ll get her ss payment without anyone working?

One of the best dogs I’ve had the privilege to share this world with is a yellow lab named Murray. He crossed the rainbow bridge today, and the world is less for him leaving. He was steady, honorable, and true. He brought love and joy to his mom, and all who are his friends. Thank you, handsome.

A girlfriend of mine is an energy healer. After the election, I was very depressed. She told me that if Blue had won, maga would never die, but that if this next admin is as unruly as its first run, there is a chance the movement may become exhausted and want progress & competence. One can hope.

If you’re looking for gifts for readers, please consider visiting your local library to see if they have a store. Our local library, for instance, has a shop of donated books. There, you can buy a one-time-read hardcover for $3-4. Proceeds go to a scholarship fund. Great deal for all.

I have ben fighting the urge to allow myself to despair, to grieve. At least, to do so blatantly and messily, with wailing and snot running down my face, and a rendering of garments. For the most part I've kept it quiet, but that has a cost, too. I am not unburdened by what could have been.

An image of a fruit tree on a split background. The top is gold, the bottom is very dark gray. Below the surface is a sad, withered reflection of the fruit tree. The words, We Could Have Had Joy, are written on top of the image.

Ok. I thought I understood how to use the thumbtack feature, but I was woefully wrong. Does anyone have a step-by-step? Much appreciated in advance.

Not sure why Elon would follow me here on Bluesky? Does anyone have any ideas?

Not sorry to repeat myself but there is a growing movement of resisters new to BlueSky of mostly small accounts looking for their family. Please use my account to build your own. The rules are in the post below. I am seeing people gaining double digit followers! xoxo

In 2016 I began a collection of poems, which I hope to one day corral into a book of poetry. This one, The Last Whale, is hitting especially hard lately. Please, please, please, let it remain an allegory.

A poem. An image of a humpback whale reaching the surface. A poem is super-imposed beside it. It is titled, The Last Whale. For months, the world followed the progress of the last whale as he pushed up the coast, Calling. Calling. Calling. But getting no answer. It was pretty good for ratings.

This is for all the Artists on Blue - I am a painter, collage, and graphic artist. I understand all the mistrust and dislike of AI "art." I am not here to change your minds. I, however, am fascinated by it, and will occasionally post about it. If that bothers you, please don't follow me.

We are all making so many new connections here on Blue. I have been finding and following as many as possible from the bad place. I went by a different name/handle over there so you would not necessarily recognize me here, yet. I’ll put up my info today, though, so we can begin this new friendship.
