#LateNightWrite Braelyn's fear of Velimiar and what he's capable of has its own journey throughout the series. I think book 4 (and maybe 5?) is where her fear of him is the absolute highest (based on the events between books 2 & 3). I'm trying to lean into that while writing "Son of Embers".

#SFFChat I think for fantasy, the biggest question I ask myself is "What makes this world different from our own? What fantastical elements does it use?" There are certain things associated with fantasy that, if they don't appear in the story, it makes it hard for me to associate it with the genre.
