It's quickly becoming apparent that I don't want social media. I want a closely knit circle of weirdos to talk to and write stories together.

I like krbk when it's happy and I like bkdk when it's sad. Does this make sense?

Definitely trying to fully integrate myself into the mha/bkdk community here, but I have to put some serious thought on whether or not I participate in the hoyoverse stuff...

I'm sure somewhere between end of the war and Deku's return that he realized that he's still a hero. We got a moment of it when he runs into those kids at the end. There just wasn't enough time to explore it, which is disappointing when it feels like it's the point of MHA from the start.

000

Katai @kataiki.bsky.social · 30/12/2025

We see him grow over the last decade after winning the quirk lottery, but once the quirk is gone there was just... lament. Deku goes back to "I'm fine, everything is fine". It's everyone else around him that grieves for him. Then we turn the page, he's granted a support suit and nothing changes.

Katai @kataiki.bsky.social · 30/12/2025

So we go through this adventure with Deku, already knowing that the answer is yes. The problem is that we never see Deku reach this answer. We see All Might reach this answer when he granted Deku his quirk. We see Bakugo reach this answer when they were toddlers in the river. But Deku never does.

Katai @kataiki.bsky.social · 30/12/2025

My Hero Academia is a love letter to American Super Heroes. Deku is not only a homage to Spider-Man, but also a challenge. "With great power there must also come great responsibility". But what about those without power? Are they able to shoulder that responsibility as well?

100

Katai @kataiki.bsky.social · 30/12/2025

I think the thing that frustrates me about MHA is that it wants to answer the question "Can someone without power be a hero?", and ultimately the answer is yes, but all of that is realized in a time skip during the last episode. We never got to explore "Who is Deku without his quirk?"

My friends an I play a ton of Runes of Midgard, so I lasered these up as coasters. They didn't really last because the bark on the outside started falling off. I think I have to resin seal the entire thing if I do this style again.
