i don't either, i think it's that there's just something about the like "unconscious" effect of throwing an accelerator versus pedaling. my ebike is limited to 25kph like these scooters and i can accelerate just as quickly (if not quicker) i think but there's an intentionality inherent in it

oh to be fair its legal in many cities here if they are blue plate scooters which are limited to ~16mph but its still really annoying because they are bigger than a bike and tend to drive a bit more aggressively than an ebike. some cities are changing the rules tho

fietsstraats, while better than regular streets, feel like such a silly alternative to a dedicated fietspad or car-free zone. "cars are guests"--okay personally, *I'VE* never had a guest try to flatten me with their metric ton body at or above 30kph but maybe i'm just a poor host??
