kasshall.substack.com I made my newsletter completely free. I don't need the pressure of asking people to pay for my work - I like it being open and accessible. Of course, if people like it and want to subscribe, they can (with my gratitude). But for now, it's all free and I'd love you to sign up.

Have any of you creative types ever done B-school? I’m interested in advice. Is it good? Worth the cost?

I’ve started a Substack because it seems like people are narrowly focused on it as a medium. I’m not one bit comfortable about the people behind Substack and those they make profits from. But I need to find my audience… kasshall.substack.com

Booked myself to see Cmdr Chris Hadfield in Sydney in June. I’ve seen him before and I am quite a fan so I’m excited!

Started reading Australian Gospel by Lech Blaine last night and I have already uttered “oh my god” numerous times. Also Blaine is one of the best writers of his generation.

My first FREE newsletter is up! You have to be a member to read it but I have loved putting the first one together (and I am planning a subscription one too). It's called Poking Around and I would love your support! www.kasshall.com (There's also book reviews you DON'T have to sign up to read too!)

Dear Authors I love and want to support: Please do not use Substack. That platform continues to permit and make money from neo-n*zi organisations and I don't want ANY of my money going into their coffers - not even a tiny percentage of what I DO want to pay you for content.

Finalised the move to @ghost.org today from Squarespace after 15 years. Website is live (link in bio) with mostly book reviews but I will be starting a blog about the world more at large (and closer to the heart, too). Still working my way around Ghost but I generally like it and it’s not Substack!

Do any #Booksky types read/subscribe to Good Reading Magazine? I’d love to hear your thoughts - now I am off FB/Insta/Threads it is hard to follow what everyone is reading.

I've started the shift of my website, after 15 years at Squarespace, to @ghost.org. It's a learning curve but I'll get there - and I think Ghost might just be about to become a big deal.

Unplanned bookshop visits are always good! Zipped down to Avid Reader in West End and with the brilliant staff’s help, we located The Good Life, given it was brought to my attention by @mslods.bsky.social.

So, today I have closed my Amazon/Audible/Prime account permanently, posted to Instagram/Facebook/Threads that I will no longer be posting to or using Meta platforms, logged out and deleted the apps. It's my blog and here. Frightening and liberating all at once.
