I prepped the drawing as two greyscale layers, each one representing one color! After the first color layer (in this case, the pink) gets printed, the paper gets manually fed back through for another color layer (the blue). Because it’s so manual, it leads to lovely little imperfections 🥺

‘Cartoon Cartoons’ was a shorts program, not a pilot program, according to ‘A For Angel’ creator Chime Merra. Creators were specifically instructed to make self-contained, one-shot stories, with shorts split between 7-minute stories and shorter interstitials.

This short was such a wonderful work of art, but I wish I liked this phase’s design style more!!! Their features are all so pointy and far apart, like skin stretched tight over their skulls. Also I’m glad 2D is in a better mood but I miss the nice contrast of his black eyes
