Upon seeing it for the 2nd time, I like it even more. I have never played games, I’m not a fan of those films with Milla Jovovich, so this film is a pleasant surprise. Austin Abrams is so good. Cinematography and the score build this tense atmosphere. Well done, guys, well done. Score: 8 out of 10

“The Odyssey” is rather disappointing. Some very underused actors: Zendaya, Charlize Theron, even Lupita Nyongo had not much to do. Only Samantha Norton chewed every inch of her short role. Matt Damon & Tom Holland who are really good actors, they are so mediocre here.

“Obsession” is way better than “Backrooms” even though it has its flaws. But it kept my interest and I didn’t get bored. Score: 7 out of 10.

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 21/06/2026

I’m sorry, but I didn’t find “Backrooms” scary at all, I found it rather boring. Score: 3 out of 10.

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 17/06/2026

“Talk to Me” Scary? Yes, I can’t wait to sleep tonight… But it also gently tackles grief and depression. I might watch it again in future. Score: 8 out of 10.

“Disclosure Day” - a little bit disappointing experience. Technically it’s a great movie, no surprises here from Steven Spielberg, actors are in the top of their game. But the story is not as engaging as I expected. David Koepp is a great, but very uneven writer.

Thank god this is the very end of #Euphoria - finale was boring just as the whole season. Seriously underused Sharon Stone, Hans Zimmer’s music did not feel right for it at all. The only good thing is how this season was shot - cinematography is stunning. And that’s it.

000

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 25/05/2026

I still can’t really get over the fact how shallow and boring season 3 of #Euphoria is. I hope #HBO will not agree to make another season, because I will not watch it.

110

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 12/05/2026

#Euphoria season 3 is worse with every episode. Empty, pointless and disgusting. Turning Nate into this douche was the big mistake - he was such a bad boy in previous seasons. I don’t really know if I want to watch it till the end. Shame…

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 01/05/2026

So, #Monarch:LegacyofMonsters season 2 is so much better than season 1! I only wish films in #MonsterVerse were as good as this TV show. I mean, I still really like first #Godzilla of 2014 and I love #Kong:SkullIsland, but after those it was just downhill.

Got a letter through post asking me to vote for #ReformUK - there’s no way fucking way I would ever do it! Farage, I thought you want to get rid off immigrants, so why the hell sending me, Polish immigrant in UK, that letter??? Screw you.

“In the Blink of an Eye” is boring and emotionless. Maybe Andrew Stanton should stick to animated films. Score: 3 out of 10

Even tho it’s a technical/visual marvel, “Avatar: Fire & Ash” can’t hide the fact that it feels like a rehash of previous films, story is pretty much the same. In my humble opinion, James Cameron should focus on some new stories, leave Avatar world. And it’s way too long. Score: 5 out of 10.

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 04/04/2026

Ryan Gosling delivers one of his best performance in this spectacular film, beautifully shot by master Greig Fraser. “Project Hail Mary” is one of the best sci-fi films in years. And who wouldn’t love to have Rocky as the best friend!!

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 21/03/2026

#Monsterverse My opinion: In films, human stories are very boring, while monster battles are great. In TV series it’s quite opposite: human stories are more engaging while monsters are not so. Tho Godzilla and Kong are always great to watch. Not sure about other monsters yet…

I really liked David Koepp’s book, so I was looking forward to watching the film. And I also really liked it. It’s enjoyable, a bit funny, gross at times obviously. I would recommend it. Score: oh, what the hell, 8 out of 10!

“Hamnet” might be slow to start, but last scene, Hamlet’s performance is worth a wait. I struggled to hold back tears. Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal are phenomenal. Beautiful cinematography, darkness of houses, rich colours of the nature. Score: 8 out of 10.

From twisted mind of @bryanfuller.bsky.social, comes this gorgeously twisted film. Beautifully shot, stellar cast, not easy to define the genre - but I really enjoyed it! Score: 8 out of 10!

“Mercy” is not as bad as I thought it would be. First part drags a bit, but then it picks up the pace. Rebecca Fergusson is greats as always. It does remind me far superior “Minority Report”, but still enjoyable film. Score: 6 out of 10.

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 16/02/2026

“Greenland 2”, one of the worst films I’ve seen in years. No logic, “lazy writing” filled with “lucky” coincidences, extremely boring. It felt like actors didn’t really want to be there, but they got hefty paycheques, so they showed up. Score: 1 out of 10.

000

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

I’ve seen “Sinners”. 16 Oscar nominations? Really?? I’d give maybe 4 or 5, defo for cinematography. But, what do I know..? Score: 4 out of 10.

“A House of Dynamite” - First part with incredible Rebecca Fergusson is amazing, full of tension. But then it all falls flat. Maybe it would’ve been more effective if it was all told together, not from different POVs.

“Zootopia 2” is as great as the first one, keeps the same level of fun and emotional engagement. I loved famous movies in-jokes. The only issue I have is that there was not enough of Flash the sloth. Overall score is 8 out of 10. And this film was what I needed to lift my spirit. #Zootopia2

Since my Dad passed on New Years Eve in 2008, I don’t feel like I want to celebrate the end of the year. Especially this year has been rather a shitty one.

On the other hand, I’m rewatching #HeatedRivalry and I love that series even more. The writing, acting, tense atmosphere, it’s all just perfect.

Over Xmas I watched “Wake Up Dead Man” it’s good, but not as good as previous 2 Knives Out films. Solid cast - Josh and Glenn Close are the best. Maybe a wee bit too long. Score 7 out 10.

Luc Besson’s “Dracula” is a bore fest. Caleb has zero charisma to play a vampire, there’s no chemistry between any of the characters. I’m surprised Christoph Waltz is in it. Score: 2 out of 10.

Okay, season finale of “Alien: Earth” redeemed the whole show. But still, I was hoping for something way better. This whole talking to Alien - I don’t buy it. And I still much prefer to see Alien hidden in the shadows than in a plain view during the day. My overall score is 5 out of 10.

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 04/09/2025

“The Naked Gun” 2025 is pretty funny. Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson have great chemistry. Jokes are as you’d expect from Naked Gun films. My score: solid 7 out of 10.

000

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 03/09/2025

After 5 episodes of “Alien: Earth” I feel disappointed. For something that has ALIEN in a title, there’s not much of Xenomorph in it. We have plenty of disposable characters that I don’t find interesting and I can’t cheer for anyone. I don’t think it will get better in coming episodes.

000

Krzysztof @karostek.bsky.social · 15/08/2025

Finally I saw “Materialists” - Might not be as perfect as “Past Lives”, but using rom-com cliches, Celine Song deconstructs modern meaning of love. Cinematography, subtle performance of Dakota, Chris and Pedro make this film a very enjoyable experience. Score: 8 out of 10.

Oh, what a disappointing movie. But I blame the script, there’s not much a director can do if story or characters are paper thin or downright annoying and disposable. In my opinion, whole family subplot should be cut out and film would’ve been so much better.
