I turned 39 and it was great and I had a perfect cake, saw some lovely flowers with the fam, and then had perfect Palestinian food and then very seriously sang karaoke. 10/10, highly recommend.

Painted too many tulips last night and made a freakishly long one, so she’s not done yet but I do have this nice crop where you dont REALLY notice how freakishly long she is. I mean sigh, maybe you notice it a little…

Ya know what, they were both in the Navy, excuse me.

One grandpa who was a naval officer turned lawyer but always also a sailor, which you can see by him wistfully staring off at sea while on a boat he traded lawyer-ing for time on.

Other grandpa, ALSO in the navy but only for the duration of WWII and he never left the New York harbor. May have even been the Coast Guard? Honestly can’t remember. Became a cab driver and then a cheesecake baker.

I was offline all day because I got to go to MoMA with my kid and he didn’t break anything AGAIN, so let’s celebrate with some silly little pictures!

Managed to take the small guy to the Brooklyn Museum without breaking anything, a win for boy moms everywhere!!

I didn’t take note of the artist but this is a geometric, brightly colored painting that my five year old did almost trip onto

Was too busy chasing a child to get the artist’s name but another very geometric, very Bauhaus color theory style piece from the Brooklyn Museum

I dunno, just sharing my own personal 2026 INS/OUTS list that no one asked for but I am releasing into the world anyway

Ins: real self care not selfish self care, flex routines, art that’s not ai, homemade pizza, pilates, bbgirl josh o connor, sensory differences, adhd/autism evaluations, and “being political”

Outs: digital footprints, fast anything, marble, starvation as aesthetic, movie releases that take over everything, masking, the other brother in the summer i turned pretty, and ugly fashion that’s only fashion because the people wearing it are conventionally attractive already
