Ahoj! Ja, malo pravnamo, seveda - je pa kamera pritrjena na sistem škripčevja, ki je pripet na vrvico zmaja kakih 30-50 m pod samim zmajem. Temu sistemu se reče "picavet" (po izumitelju) in skrbi, da je ne glede na ples zmaja kamera vedno bolj ali manj vodoravna (in usmerjena)

Sometimes a kite festival takes you to really cool things. This is the Gommateshwara statue in Karkala, Karnataka, India - an idol of Bahubali, son of Rishabhanatha, the first tirthankara of Jainism. The statue was carved in 1432 from a single block of granite. It is 13 m high and ... incredible.

It was – as the *real* archaeologists told us later – the ground plan of a Roman villa rustica. The illustrious name is a bit misleading, as a »villa rustica« is just - a farm. Not a villa, no Roman treasures, no fancy mosaics, no reason whatsoever to put a shovel into the meadow.

So we took our regular camera and the modified Pentax, put them both on a Picavet rig (a system of pulleys that is attached to the kite line and keeps the level regardless of kite's shenanigans), set them on 20-second interval shooting, and let them fly into the sky.
