DHS Secretary Kristi Noem's press stunt in Minneapolis today highlights a troubling reality: the neighbors, school families, and workers in our city are not safe. The Supreme Court has authorized ICE to indiscriminately target individuals based on race, ethnicity, and accents. This moment calls for bold action.I won’t just talk about potential solutions; I will collaborate with the City Council to enact:✅An ordinance banning facial coverings by law enforcement in our city.✅A real-time alert system to inform our community when ICE is operating in their neighborhoods, fostering safety and awareness.✅Enhancements to our non-cooperation ordinance to include joint task forces, such as ICE.✅Increased funding for our Immigrant Legal Defense Fund and additional resources for the City Attorney’s Office.✅Training for constitutional observers, empowering city workers and residents to protect their neighbors from xenophobic federal actions. We can and must do more.#kaohlyforstp #kaohlyher #kaohlyvangher #saintpaulmn #saintpaul
