With heavy hearts, we mourn the death yesterday of Laurie Walsh. She was a regular vendor at the market for many years as Chalk With Laurie. Her health was in decline in recent years which forced her to reduce her market attendance, even though it was her happy place. 1 / 🧵

We are saddened by the sudden passing of Dieter Dudy of Thistle Farm. Dieter was a long-term vendor with the Kamloops Farmers’ Market at both the Wednesday & Saturday market days. He also served as a market board member for several years. Civic participation was important to him.
In a photo from 1998, Dieter (2nd from left) helps carry the Kamloops Farmers’ Market’s 20th anniversary celebration cake into the schoolyard.

There’s a long history of all candidate forums being held at KFM. To help voters get to know the municipal candidates, we’re hosting two forums: A) council B) mayoral. Save the dates of Sep 26 & Oct 3. We’ll post more details soon. #DemocracyMatters #BCMunicipalElections #KamloopsEvents
