Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 25/01/2025The rear board needs to be removed for installing the case, so I also printed a stand for it as it's such a lovely design 140
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 25/01/2025I wanted a physical keypad to control effects on #TouchDesigner, so I got my Adafruit MacroPad RP2040 out of storage and printed a nice new case for it. Add in some colorful key caps and it's a work of art! Software is WIP 1260
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 16/01/2025I'm definitely thinking about it, also mostly for the robotics session.. 010
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 16/01/2025Forgot to post here, I cleaned up my TouchDesigner network and added some filters and effects 010
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 12/01/2025Turns out I cannot add a photo and a video to the same post. Here's my setup, next step is to visualize the IMU on top 000
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 12/01/2025Weekend project: combined my new hobby (generative art + Touch Designer) with robotics using the VL53L5CX ToF imager sensor. Modified my #ROS driver to also publish messages using the OSC (Open Sound Control) protocol and added effects on #TouchDesigner github.com/adityakamath... 110
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 09/01/2025Well it hasn't helped me in engineering so far but it is indeed a lot of fun! On the other hand, my engineering background does make it easier to understand TD concepts.. 000
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 08/01/2025Just hit publish on my annual recap of all the fun projects I did last year - includes a lot of robotics (work and hobby) and #ROS, including trips to #RoboCup and #ROSCon 2024. I also talk about my latest hobby of generative design using #TouchDesigner. kamathsblog.com/2024-a-year-...kamathsblog.com2024: A year in reviewRobotics highlights, a new hobby and future plans 040
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 24/12/2024Bought a fancy new multipen (2 ballpoints + 1 mechanical pencil) as an EDC on a recent trip to Cologne, but then ended up with a broken finger and now can't write for 2 weeks. FML 000
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 11/12/2024Turns out I cannot attach more than 1 video to a post. Shame. This video isn't sound reactive but still pretty cool 010
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 11/12/2024Oops, have been forgetting to post the results of my #touchdesigner experiments here. Here are some of my favourites, two of them are sound reactive. Based off of tutorials by @pao_olea_ (on Twitter) #visualart #soundreactive 110

Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 25/11/2024I started learning to use #TouchDesigner a few months ago but then got busy with other stuff. Yesterday I picked it up again and am challenging myself to follow a 15-20 min tutorial on YouTube each day. Here are my results: (I'm also posting this on Twitter, sorry for the spam 😅) 120
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 24/11/2024I'm using Cursor IDE - the free version which has a limit. I also use Copilot for which I've got a license 010
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 24/11/20243. You are in charge of telling AI tools what to do - so you need to know what you want. And you need to be specific and provide a lot of context in your prompts. You are in charge of the creative stuff, and AI can handle the boring programming stuff really well. 110
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 24/11/20242. Use open-source frameworks and tools. In my case, part of the PoC is implemented with #ROS. AI models are trained on publicly available material, and most open-source tools have tons of publicly available documentation and code. 110
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 24/11/2024For applications like this, there are a few things to remember though. 1. It is extremely important to understand programming / software architecture. AI isn't always right, so you need to be able to understand what it generates and correct it when it makes mistakes 131
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 24/11/2024I'm so fricking impressed with how good AI tools have become. I'm working on a new product idea (more details coming soon) and managed to build a proof-of-concept over a weekend using Cursor and without writing a single line of code. I only provided prompts and reviewed code 🧵 210
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 23/11/2024Ngl, I still do kinda like the old toxic place. Bluesky is nice but I also like some drama 😅 PS. Muting Musk and staying away from American politics makes it much better 110
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 23/11/2024Ooh I'm curious! Looking forward to see some project updates :) 010
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 22/11/2024Any interesting non-robotics people I should follow? My feed is just full of robotics stuff and I'm missing the photography content, the memes and the shit-posts... 😔 220
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 22/11/2024Writing about my #ROSCon experiences on my blog, and I discovered the focus mode on Hashnode.dev - I can play ambient sounds like rain or forest or even sounds of a cafe. So cool! (Blog coming soon..) 020
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 25/12/2023Hey #ROS #Robotics people, what's the best way to connect ROS 2 and an Arduino Mega? Micro-ROS doesn't support the Mega and ROSSerial (AFAIK) doesn't work on ROS 2. 111
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 21/12/2023Test post from this new app called Yup. Let's me see bsky and twitter feeds together and also let's me post to both platforms at once. 020
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 21/12/2023Just noticed the #robotics feed by @rosmo.bsky.social. Excellent job! 020
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 14/12/2023I'm probably going to spend more time on bsky because of this :D 131
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 14/12/2023You can check out my profile, I'm only following robotics folks for now :D 020
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 28/09/2023I'd say the gripper. Only because the arm might be too big.. 110
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 24/09/2023Haha, it's really a cool product..it's a bummer I couldn't do more with it, someone at work registered it to their account, and I can't do anything without doing a factory reset. 110
Aditya Kamath @kamath.bsky.social · 24/09/2023Hello world! I played around with an Oculus Quest that I borrowed from work. I'm totally amazed by how precise the controller tracking and localization is, the controller even detects if a finger is simply placed on top of a button/trigger. I can already imagine quite a few uses in robotics.. 260
