Always intrigued by someone’s journey of “ready to accept” I consider how I was raised passive practice. Like grandma laid out the path and breadcrumbs but the active parts come when you are ready or there’s a message waiting for you.

They are the masses I speak of. Most black ppl come from a Christian lens by default. There’s undoing that has to be done before getting to a trusted practitioner. It usually starts by a friend or family being able to speak during a timing to be received. Or something happened and it comes natural.

Basically everything that was passed down on my side is about protecting bc people have a do bad minded things. Sometimes it does take an opposite but equal force to remedy the situation.

What you said about Abrahamic traditions is true, bc if this lens that most people have of religion, we have to start the conversation with those two terms to be able to talk about the teachings for the masses. There’s a ton of undoing that has to be done to even start the conversation.

I think in modern study, there is a framing of good, but I was always taught that the practice & practitioner are neither but rather the choice. Hoodoo is unique bc the focus is freedom & it was birthed from that necessity, but in the Caribbean, it’s still both but was used for liberation too.

❤️ this is part of the adjustments I’ve made & still working on. I’m horrible at transitions. I don’t use smaller pieces of time less than 45min productively. My adhd is my super power is all from having the luxury of hyper focus. I became a mom, there is not hyper focus. I was failing at basic life.

I worked hard to be where I’m at right now. I should not have been as stressed as I have been previously—But it’s also perspective, I had to step back to see it. Couldn’t see how it don’t make sense when I’m in it. I have the right schedule & financials to have more joy. I don’t use it well.
