Maar liefst twaalf consortia kunnen door het Perspectief-programma starten met hun onderzoeksprojecten gericht op het (door)ontwikkelen van technologische innovaties. Bij deze projecten staat hun maatschappelijke en economische impact centraal. Zij ontvangen vanuit het ministerie van Economische Zaken en NWO in totaal 46,4 miljoen euro aan financiering. Bedrijven en andere partners voegen daar nog eens 19,6 miljoen euro aan toe. Het Perspectief-programma geeft hiermee een belangrijke impuls aan de technologische innovatiekracht van Nederland.

Optical broadband systems play an important role in various sectors, from health diagnostics to the agri-food sector. In order to (further) develop these technologies, the Future Optical Broadband Systems research programme was launched within the Knowledge and Innovation Covenant. With this funding, six consortia can start interdisciplinary research into semiconductor chips, hyperspectral imaging and tomography imaging, amongst others.
