Well, finally got my chemo meds and start this weekend. I’ve been given next week off. Relieved to finally get started, grateful it’s free through a program, nervous about side effects. Really real now. I need the side effects to be manageable. Need to keep working. Hope and pray.

Not much has changed in two weeks. Actually, it’s worse. Lost another cat. Still haven’t started chemo. This week sucks. Weather is windy and quickly getting cold. All perfect excuses to stay inside and avoid reality today.

I really am trying to be here more but honestly this week has sucked. Lost my car, lost a cat, and more delays on starting my chemo. I’m kinda glad we might be getting icy weather this Sunday. I’m gonna stay home, stay in my pjs, and nope the day away. With treats.

A few days off socials and now sorta catching up. So this will be a bit rambly. I’m starting to not mind my new weird sleep schedule. Fall asleep around 10ish. Wake up around 4ish. Grab a coffee and sit with cats and socials. Think, scroll, read, purrs, vibes.

Happy Meowentine’s? I guess. Getting kitty lovins at work. Good distraction. Trying not to get into a tizzy about chemo starting soon. I’m praying the side effects are manageable. I NEED to keep working. It’s working with cats. Of course I’d want to! Hope y’all getting snuggles. Or a gentle day.

Welp. Test results are back. It’s Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Treatment plans are changing. It will, apparently, be handled as a chronic condition to be managed. Shifting gears on stuff. More to learn. I’ve had time to process but I’m going to take a lil more.

For some reason my body has decided I will fall asleep around 10ish and randomly wake up around 3. I’ll try to go back to sleep but then give up. I’ll get some coffee and doom scroll a bit or overthink stuff and pray. Checking forecasts to see what this winter storm will do and none of them match.

Some good news I guess. My tax refunds will almost be enough for the car repair I need done. Add what I have on that place’s credit card and it should be just enough. One less worry. Next appt is Friday. When it’s supposed to snow. Wee. At least the cats are being extra cuddly. Sorry, no cat tax.

Still mostly calm. Okayish? I dunno, I’m just not panicking. I know it’s gonna get hard. Guess we will see how well I keep this attitude. Am a bit worried about chemo or radiation. Mom had horrible response. Will I be the same? I hope this mental prep helps.

I’m still calm about having a breast cancer diagnosis. Can’t say why. Just trying to prepare for what is coming. Weirdly, the top question I have is how am I going to keep my cats off my chest until I recover from surgery? Some ambush me or refuse to sit anywhere else! I’ll figure it out I guess.

It’s official. It’s breast cancer. I am very weirdly calm about it. Everyone else, especially my mom, keeps asking if I’m okay. Yup. It’s probably because I have support. The world is crap right now. Can’t imagine how bad it is going through stuff by yourself. But I’m fine. Or maybe just F.I.N.E.

The cats are protesting my holiday sleep schedule. In retaliation for sleeping in 1 hour they are demanding snuggles before I finish my first cup of coffee. I’m gonna have to retreat to the kitchen.

First taste of winter weather coming tomorrow but the cold is already here. Forecasts can’t agree so it’s somewhere between 1-4”. Of course tomorrow it could change to 5+ or nothing. The wind last night was awful but the cat shelters were fine.

Well the bike shed idea didn’t work. Not to be used for animals so I’m returning it. Got current feral cat shelters cleaned, patched, and packed with fresh straw. One of my not-feral cats turned up sick so I brought him inside. Warmth and good food already have him better. He’s liking inside life.

I know, sporadic posting. Honestly it’s info overload. Also busy with cat stuff. Have to clean & prep the outdoor cat shelters for winter. Got something new this year. The portable shed to cover the shelters was great, but they’ve shredded it walking on top. Trying a portable bike shed. Dumb idea?

The long holiday weekend was good and not good. The car repair is done but the fireworks in my area were insane and annoying. Scared the crap out of my outside cats. One of mine was not doing great. The vet visit had little good news. Lost him days later. Now another is sick. God, a break please?

I started a 5 day weekend today. The timing was right. Volunteers are covering my days off. I am so very grateful. Many years I rarely took days off because I really didn’t like taking advantage of volunteers. I know that’s not quite the way to see it but that’s what I felt.

So, I did something silly, a cheap breakfast pizza. Literally just heated up a store brand breakfast bowl and put it on top of a Totinos cheese pizza. Just $3. It was actually quite tasty. Probably could the cheaper $1 cheese pizza but this is fine.

Not much new because I’m boring. I like simple days so why post much? It’s all the same - work, eat, sleep, cats, and repeat. Oh, but a new kitty is hanging around. Unfortunately it’s a girl. I’ll have to get her checked and fixed asap. There’s also a new black boy. If I can catch them. Pretty.
