I swapped out quin gold for new gamboge. I like this better. I would still wish for ultramarine instead of Paynes gray though :)

I learned recently about the Zorn palette for oils and I thought I would try it using watercolor. I picked quin gold instead of yellow so it doesn't get vibrant oranges. And I picked Paynes gray instead of black. But then watercolor doesn't mix the same way.

I'm really happy with this one. Chery Blossom Path, miniature #watercolor painting. I changed up how I photograph them too, and I think that worked out well.

I bet the point count on it was sky high too. When I was looking through artist job listings all of them wanted a vector artist who was extremely fast and produced efficient linework. Guess it’s ok to be sloppy if a computer is doing it.

Mixing. This is the first time I've done a big commission and I needed a lot of darks, so I just squeezed tube colors on a mixing plate. This worked well! I thought it was kind of pretty so I decided to share.

Mixing plate with Prussian blue, Ultramarine blue, Quinacridone Rose, Hansa yellow, and burnt sienna watercolor paints for mixing dark colors. A dreamt purply mix is visible in the middle.
