Kinda wanted to talk about what I call "Vampire Syndrome". Its very likely you have a friend with this, or you are that friend. I call it vampire syndrome because in classic media vampires needed to invited into your home. Some mystical or spiritual force would keep them going in. [1/3]

The interviews I do almost NEVER ask any actual technical questions because teaching someone a tech environment or processes isn't hard. What can't be taught is personality, drive or ethics.

This question wasn't like a trap or anything either, if he had said No it wouldn't have been an issue, it was really just a question of are you familiar with it all? But when they respond with beating their chest it's very much a red flag.

When he was asked "Do you have any experience with X Y or Z?" he proceeded to tell me a story about how he's worked with plenty of companies, and provided support to various sub companies. Which is all well and good. But I still had to ask "So is that a yes or a no?" and this tends to happen a lot.

Interview Stories 1: I'll start with today as it's pretty fresh in my mind, it was an older gentleman that's had a lot of experience in various IT fields. Very qualified on a technical stand point but he had a pretty glaring issue.

So, I work in IT and am in a position that in part of the hiring/review process. Have been going through a number of candidates.. So I thought it might be fun to talk about some of the questions I ask and answers I expect to get as well as some stories about the people I've interviewed.

Feel like it'll take a while to learn and get the hang of and definitely something I appreciate having more knowledgeable people in chat when playing.
