I might have been a little quick in posting because as I worked more rows it started to curl a lot. I’m going to pull it back out and use a larger needle size to see if that helps. If not, I will be revisiting tutorials on intarsia in the round.

Progress on varsity letter sweater. I’m not doing intarsia in the round correctly- I’m purling the white 🧶 and then using a needle to pass back through each stitch on the row above to get both raised texture & move yarn back into correct position. Will also duplicate #knit gold outline.
Partially knit red varsity sweater that will have letters in white with gold outline. The top bar of the letter D is complete.

Current wips for #showmeyourknits. 1) Deckle Edge Socks by @abeeinthebonnet.bsky.social 🧶Knitpicks Stroll. One skein of Prairie Heather not enough even with shorter leg, so toes will be white 😂 2) Nocturnal Jumper by Saskie & Co., almost done! 3) University of Denver sweater, details in alt
A pair of brown hand knit socks in progress are shown on a rattan placemat resting on a yellow blanket. A skein of white yarn being used for the toes, along with various stitch markers and bamboo needles are scattered about. Nocturnal jumper pictured on a cream colored sofa. Sweater features black cats against a white full moon in colorwork. Background color is charcoal grey. 🧶 used is Susan’s Family Morandi 100% wool on 5.5mm needles.Red sweater knitting project pictured on the dark grey seat of a dining chair. By request, the sweater will have vintage DU (a university of Denver) logo in white with gold edging. The colorwork will be self drafted. Pattern is modified Chameleon Sweater by Atelier Castin. Pattern was selected for its set in sleeves and mock neck. She picked the yarn, acrylic (which I do not like but it was her choice).

Bowie isn’t allowing much #wipwednesday progress on the Nocturnal Jumper. #knitsky 🧶

#showmeyourknits Last year I was gifted 4 balls of white wool but never really loved any of the patterns I tried with it. Now it’s getting frogged to become part of a Nocturnal Jumper by Saskie & Co. Copying the charcoal, black & white color combo used by savskii.knits on TikTok.
Foreground shows a chunky lace pattern white wool scarf that is about to be dismantled and repurposed into the sweater seen in the background. Sweater features a round colorwork yoke that will eventually have black cats and white moons.

I am much, much better. Thank you! Bind off finished, but now I’m looking at the neckline thinking I might fuss with it a little.

Thank you! Doing much better now, thanks. I did get the bind off finished yesterday (yay!) but still have some ends to weave in.

Almost finished… My Frøya sweater has been languishing. Just need to bind off- which I am hoping to accomplish today. Delayed by a meningitis scare last weekend and then allergic reaction to treatment. Moving slow, but moving…
Cream colored Frøya sweater is almost finished. All over cable design is thick and textured, knit with Knit Picks Wool of the Andes and Queensland Lapin (angora blend) held together on 5.5mm needles

I’m in a rural area and a quick search looks like the closest is about 25-30 miles away. Our vet is much closer though. Hesitant to trap because our backyard is woodland and we have lots of wild critters roaming around. It would be best if it would let me put it in a carrier.

#caturday update on the newest stray- it still won’t let me pet it, but it comes daily for food and this morning ate treats from my hand. Trying to patiently build up trust and not scare it off. For now I’m calling it Zappa.

Thank you! Maybe some day I will splurge. Although, then I would lose my little luxury of having the Tunisian crochet hooks that screw into my knitting cables. That makes picking up arm & neck stitches so easy, plus sometimes I use them for bind off too.

I’ve never used premium interchangeable needles, can I ask what sets the ChiaoGoo apart to make them your most used? I do have 2.5mm 9” ChiaoGoo circulars I use for socks, but I’ve never tried anything else by them.

I didn’t think about it when I got the black needles, but working with dark 🧶colors are harder to see. So I got first rose gold set. The second rose gold set was simply because I liked the case and I can have multiple wips on the same size needles. I have loaned out my extras to friends.

Can we talk needles? Inspired by Debbie T’s post on circulars which I’ve reposted. I taught myself to knit when I was 9, but spent most of my time crocheting until I got my first set of bamboo interchangeables (clear case) two years ago. Completely resurrected my love of knitting. #knitsky

How do you store yours? I’m so glad I rarely use circulars! Also, I’m tidy, I couldn’t stand the mess of these The few circulars I do have are wound up in their original boxes 🧶 #knit

Today is the third day in a row for the new stray. Top name choices: Zappa (derived from Smoke on the Water lyrics) or Moshi, which Google tells me is the word for smoke in Swahili. It’s a little more feral than Bowie, but it did head butt my hand twice this morning.

Cat tales… The cat formerly known as Sylvester is now called Bowie. He declared me his person and moved in. About a month ago, a cat shaped cloud of smoke appeared at the edge of our yard. Saturday he came to the back door, desperate for food. Here we go again… 🤗

I think that is what I would do if I make them again. The pattern does have them worked in the round once the fingers are attached, it’s just a very tedious process to get there. Colorwork instructions are great though.

Pam @kalais2.bsky.social · 08/07/2026
I learned to knit as a child but really have been fixated the past two years and there is so much I still have to learn. I scroll here and there are so many people creating amazing things!

Pam @kalais2.bsky.social · 08/07/2026
That seems like it would make more sense! These are made top down, starting with individual fingers. The method in the pattern is to knit them flat, similar to i-cord. That looked sloppy when I tried, so I knit them in the round.
110
Pam @kalais2.bsky.social · 08/07/2026
🤗 to be fair, I didn’t know what I was getting into when I bought the pattern.😂

Pam @kalais2.bsky.social · 08/07/2026
Thanks- I was surprised that the instructions start at the top, making each finger and then stitching them together. Three fingers at first, then pinkie after a few rows and finally thumb 14 rows later. After that fiddly part, the colorwork is a breeze.

#wipwednesday Two projects cast on this week. Frøya sweater by Ingrid Dyb and Belyse mitts by Ysolda Teague. The brown yarn in the mitts was a gift my daughters brought me from Finland, handspun 50% wool, 50% alpaca, 100% sourced from Finland. 🧶 🥰 #knitsky

The mannequin picture is from the pattern, I do think that colorway is gorgeous and perfect for fall. This picture on the needles is much more accurate to my yarn’s color.

Take 2 with blocking. I tried it on and wished it was about 1/2” longer above the lace and that had better defined leaf tips. My phone is really pulling the brown shades in this picture but it truly is green 🧶 #knitsky

This is the second Twist Loop I’ve made this year, and I modified the pattern a lot here. The pattern is great for smaller sizes, but for larger busts I suggest glancing at the projects on Ravelry for tips such as casting on extra stitches to widen straps & adj increases so armholes aren’t too deep.

The Autumn Leaves top is in Isager Alpaca 1, color Thyme. I bought this yarn while on my last road trip 😂. I have 4 skeins, 2 ea. in 2 dye lots so I’m holding the lace weight yarn double to maintain consistent color. Can’t wait to see it blocked.
