Taking a break is necessary for perspective. Don't immediately throw it into editing. We are always concerned about the next step. Because the world is moving so quickly nowadays. But taking a break is a necessary step. You can't see what's wrong with the project when you're so close to it.

Echoes, can be used as a way to add distortion, confusion, and repetition. Some stories require repetition. But sometimes, writers are putting things in, thinking that a story needs it, when actually it doesn't.

There is definitely a correct way to break story. A correct way to craft them. And yes, you do need to understand the rules, in order to break them creatively and properly. Passive voice, is usually a problem.

Some of the best advice I can give you when writing: read your writing out loud. Especially dialogue! You don't know if it sounds natural until you say it. And it's really good for pointing out mistakes in grammar, as well as typos!

It should be the book that teaches you how to write a book. That teaches you the writing craft. That teaches you what you do and do not like. Take the pressure off of it. You can absolutely query it, but if you're not getting any hits, don't just keep working on that book. Write the next book.

Just remember that this book doesn't have to be the book. The first book you write is unlikely to be the one that gets you an agent, a book deal, or a movie deal. The first book that I published was not the first book that I wrote. The first book that you write should be for yourself.

I was a little bit nervous that it might take itself too seriously. But it didn't. I gave it four stars. And the only reason I didn't give it a 5 was that I didn't like the way the ending wrapped up. I was expecting a little bit more explanation, and I feel that it lacked that.

I recently finished The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre by Phillip Fracassi. I very much enjoyed it. I loved the main character. And I enjoyed the setting. It's not a typical setting for a thriller/horror. I was surprised at how humorous it was.

Sometimes we force ourselves to work with whimsy. This year, I downloaded the forest app, and I've been planting trees and focusing. I find this app works for people who like being rewarded. Because I get to plant a cute little tree, and I get to set a timer.
