Tydligen har det ropats en del olämpliga saker efter Jokerits #Liiga matcher. Nu har laget tagit i bruk ett nytt "protokoll" som innebär att man kommer spela musik efter matchen, tills arenan är tömd. Detta för att garantera att evenemanget är trevligt för alla och en familjevänlig tillställning.

Lördagen känns fortfarande i rösten, men så ska det vara; supporterskap är en fysisk prestation. En kompis hittade mig även på bild i lokaltidningen. Bilden helt klart från första halvlek då grabbarna längst fram fortfarande hade tröjorna på sig. 🤭 Min jacka hölls nog på. Det var något kyligt i Åbo.

Idag inleddes, tyvärr, yllesock-säsongen. Jag kan bara inte ha kallt om fötterna, vare sig jag sitter eller står. Sockorna åker på genast på morgonen och tas väl av i majmånad. 🤭 (Jo, jag har ett arbetsrum men ibland när jag börjar skriva så länge minstingen äter frukost glömmer jag att gå dit.)

I bought another classic football "7 record - a "humppa" (fast foxtrot) from 1969 written for KPV from Kokkola, Finland. It is probably the first team record made in Finland. The song has been played at every home game since. There is also a rap-version but this one is better. 🤭

Bought a new copy of this classic TPS-record online since I gave my previous away to a fan. Sent a pic to my oldest son, who is a record lover: "Nice, I dont know much about that record apart from them being from Tampere". Oh, my. The apple has rolled far from the tree. He even lives in Turku.

What caught my attention was the first song in the book: “America”. Something felt wrong when I sight-read it. The melody felt out of place. I was not totally surprised to learn that God save the King/Queen-melody, has been used for many patriotic songs, even national anthems outside of Britain.

This songbook, ”Song of the Sea” (1919), for use in the US Navy, I found at a flea market in Nauvo, in the Turku archipelago a few weeks ago. The book has made quite a journey as it seems to have been in the ownership of an American Seamen's Friend Society in Brooklyn.

I like collecting old songbooks. I keep them as reference material in my book shelf, and they often come in handy when doing historical research. They are also just fun to browse as one learns much about traveling melodies and cultures of singing.

Bosnien och Hercegovinas nationalsång har inga ord för landets tre stora folkgrupper har inte kunnat enas om en text. Tre andra länder har också sånger utan ord men bara ett av dem är i #fotbolls-VM nämligen Spanien.

Found this training jacket at my family's summer house. Think it is from 1990 or 1991 when Jaro was in the top tier for the first time. Last time i tried it on was 2023. Now it actually fits. 🤣 Gray (color of stainless steel) and dark red actually was the original colors. Still, nice 90's retro.

Was out singing with #FFJaro friends last weekend up in Jakobstad/Pietarsaari. Great fun! We sang non stop by heart for 2x45 minutes. It's quite a physical performance and takes a day or two for voice to recover. Now i'm back in shape for game in Turku on Sat. Then my teenage daughter will join. ⚽️☺️

Time for the traditional micselfie (micie?) after final shift of the 24h recording & traffic count in #Nauvo. Had to finish a few mins early to make it to the 22.30 ferry to Parainen. The ferries gives the trafficscape of Nauvo a special character since cars often arrive/leave in clusters. #someco

Today is #listeningwalk day in #Nauvo. We walk the same route(s) at five different times of a day. I found this interesting spot where new asphalt meets old. It is a no brainer that the sounds from traffic is more silent on the new surface. #somecoproject #soundscape #someco

Starting next week the #SOMECO team will do fieldwork in Nauvo, in the Archipelago Sea, Finland. I got a head start by doing a workshop with fifth and sixth graders today. Interesting #soundscape discussions about the new electronic school bell and sounds from the (not yet so lively) guest harbour.

Sound diary to be filled about during the day. Paper due on Tuesday.

Yes, of course we have recorded bells in Dollar too. The church bell (it is only one) is ringed by hand on sundays. We got a nice chat with the gentleman who has this important duty. On the right is a (warning?) bell located where you tee off at the Dollar golf course. #soundscape #someco

I used the sounds of the football game as a reference sound. The sounds (kicking of the ball, shouts from players) was heard all the way up here. Awesome acoustic horizon. In the narrow streets of the old town they could not be heard. Here someone was watching Milan-Atalanta from TV instead 🤭

Tonight I recorded the #soundscape of #Cembra from distance at 8.00-8.30 pm. Most prominent sounds were: -Grasshoppers -Cuckoo birds (cuclus canorus) -Mopeds -Church bells (from four different villages) -Football players Never have I listen to a football game from a fantastic place like this.

A nice day in Cembra. We were invited to two baitas ("huts") and hiked up to Lago Santo. Our hosts sang a very moving song in honor of the Pope. In the evening at 8pm several church bells in the Cembra valley rang for a long time. Probably related to the Pope's death. #someco #soundscape

We have had som very interesting days in #Cembra so far. Lots of nice people, sounds and varying weather. Yesterday was #listeningwalk day. We divide the village in to three zones and walked them at five different times of the day. Today we do 24h recording and traffic counting. #soundscape #someco
