Going to highlight some ex-Rangers youngsters that are performing well this season. Starting off with Matty Yates! The 22-year-old has 5G/6A in 15 appearances this season for Stenny. All five goals have come in the last six games as have three of the assists. HE’S ON FIRE 🔥

🧵If you’ve been too busy paying attention to Barron, Miller and Watson then it’s time to give Lyall Cameron the spotlight he deserves. With Luke McCowan leaving in the summer he’s really kicked his performance levels up a notch. Let’s look at him 👇🏻

I think there’s an arguement to be made that, since he came back into the side, Nico Raskin has been Rangers best player this season. Thought he was superb AGAIN last night, covers every blade of grass and carries the ball so well. What have you made of his recent form?

Personally, I love when young Scottish players make a bold move and that’s exactly what Max Johnston did. After six really impressive months at Motherwell, his contract expired and he moved to Sturm Graz in Austria.

Another day, another young Scottish striker! In just 63 minutes Bobby Wales has a goal and an assist for Kilmarnock this season, both of which showed really technical quality. His overall play has really impressed Killie fans so let’s look at him.

A player definitely worth talking about is St. Mirren youngster Kieran Offord. The 20-year-old striker has been in great form for Crusaders on loan this season. He’s been capped at U19 level, should he make the step up to the U21s?

Give it six months and everyone will be talking about Frosinone’s Kevin Barcella. Really interesting profile, aggressive, reads the game well and is capable of creating chances. One to watch.

🧵Posted about Robbie Ure a couple of times recently. This week I’ll be covering Scottish U21 talents and I think he can be a big one. Made a really interesting career move leaving Rangers for Anderlecht and it’s really helped his over all game. Let’s look at him 👇🏻

🧵I couldn’t spend the week talking about Scottish U19 talents and not end on Lennon Miller, could I? It seems every couple of days a new club is linked to Motherwell’s star man, what will his next move be? Let’s talk about him 👇🏻

🧵A player that really impressed me in the last international break was former Celtic youngster Aidan Borland. He’s already made his Aston Villa debut this season and definitely has a bright future ahead of him.

Another day, another potential Scotland number nine for the future. Daniel Cummings is a pure goalscorer, he’s been on fire for Celtic B this season! Between the UEFA Youth League and Lowland League he’s scored 22 in 19 games. Will Rodgers give him a chance this season?

Ryan Oné is a player I have really high hopes in terms of people a future national team striker. Great physical profile, strong, quick, can play short or go long. He also has great control of the ball and is capable of playing up top on his own. What do you think of him?

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 25/11/2024
He’s a quality attacking threat whilst also being strong defensively. His interceptions and recoveries obviously stand out here. 68% dribble success per game also highlight his quality going forward and ability to beat players.

🧵Content on here will be themed short player threads (Scotland U19 players to watch this week) Monday-Friday then articles on my Substack Tuesday and Thursday! Starting off with Ayr United’s Dylan Watret 👇🏻

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 24/11/2024
If St. Mirren wanted to make a statement they would go all out for Dylan Watret. The Scotland U19 international has been a stand out in the Championship this season. He’s energetic with attacking quality but also solid defensively. He’s got big potential.

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 24/11/2024
Next up is Ronan Boyce who impressed for Derry this season. He can play all the way up the right and is solid at both ends. Really strong in duels and tough tackling, he wouldn’t struggle to adapt to the pass and aggressiveness of the Scottish game.

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 24/11/2024
Starting off with a free agent option that can also cover CB in Osman Kakay. The ex-QPR defender had two spells in Scotland with Livingston and Partick Thistle. He’s still been playing at international level despite being a free agent. A safe and good defensive option.

🧵St. Mirren are the final team in the series! Spoke to @MiseryHunters who suggested another option at RB/RWB. Let’s look at the three options 👇🏻

Karl Andre Vallner has had a ridiculous season at Levadia Tallinn. 21 clean sheets in 33 appearances is INCREDIBLE. As is conceding 0.4 goals per game with an 81% save rate. He’s unfortunate to have Karl Hein in front of him in the national team.

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
Valakari has already targeted players from Finland so that’s where we’re off to next. Calum Ward’s contract is up and the former Bournemouth youngster may fancy a move closer to home. He reads the game well and is the perfect goalkeeper for a team that wants to press high.
130
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
First up is Nils Purins from Simo Valakari’s old club, Riga FC. He kept clean sheets in 13 of 22 appearances, only conceding 0.6 goals per game. I don’t doubt this is a deal the new St. Johnstone manager would be keen to complete.

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
🧵The penultimate team in the series is St. Johnstone and after speaking to @C_ENicolson I’ve looked at some goalkeepers they could target in January. Let’s look at the three options 👇🏻

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
Joshua Ukek is an incredibly interesting winger. He’s 6’2, powerful and quick, he has the perfect physical profile for Scottish football. He reminds me of a wider version of Theo Bair with his frame and physical attributes. I think he’d transition really well.
100
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
Next up is Aidan Fitzpatrick of Patrick Thistle. He’s a high energy wide player that always gets amongst the goals. He has all the attributes going forward to step up a level and has an excellent attitude and work rate. He could be a bargain pick up.
100
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
First up is Ethan Ross who came through Aberdeen’s academy and played some Premiership games as an 18-year-old. A creative wide player who’s great on the ball and gets plenty of shots away. He’s one that would definitely get bums off of seats.

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
🧵Only three teams to go now and today it’s Ross County! I spoke to @thecountycorner who suggested that The Staggies needed some wide players in January. Let’s look at three potential targets 👇🏻

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 21/11/2024
My favourite player on the list. Despite not having the best time in Italy, David Strelec is way too good to be back playing in Slovakia again. A great finisher who’s technically excellent. He’s intelligent in how he uses both his body and the ball. He’s scored four in six in the Nations League.

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 21/11/2024
Ivan Azón has been capped by Spain at U21 level. Much is still expected from him but he’s yet to make the leap from La Liga 2. His movement is excellent, as is his technique. This season he’s finally showing the numbers that have been expected of him.
110
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 21/11/2024
After a spell in the Netherlands Isac Lidberg has been on fire in the 2. Bundesliga for Darmstadt. His form got him called up to the Sweden squad and he made his debut. A great finisher that’s strong on the ball and clever with his movement, he can definitely step up a level entering prime.

🧵 Rangers are up next and I asked the lads at the @therangersjournal.bsky.social what position they think the club should focus on.. Is it a surprise to anyone that they said striker? I’ve tried to be smart with the markets/values given we’ve no idea what will be available to spend 👇🏻
122
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 21/11/2024
Last up is someone who could be a perfect Lennon Miller replacement in Charlie McCann. The ex-Rangers and Manchester United youngster is flying with Forest Green Rovers right now. He can dictate the tempo of a game, contribute goals and is an excellent set-piece taker.
321
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 21/11/2024
Next up is Ode Abdullahi from Dainava Alytus in Lithuania who will become a free agent in January. He keeps the ball moving well and has a terrific engine which lets him bomb up and down the pitch the whole game. He has all the physical and defensive attributes to be a success in the Scotland.
111
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 21/11/2024
First up is the most out there shout in Rajmund Tóth of ETO FC Győr in Hungary. He’s a Hungarian U21 international that’s rangy, good on the ball and aggressive defensively. His tenacity combined with passing range could suit Scottish football perfectly.
101
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 21/11/2024
🧵My local Scottish Premiership club Motherwell are up next! Spoke to a few fans and a striker was suggested alongside a box to box midfielder. I went for the latter because of the amount of strikers covered already (sorry @GoggsyNineNine )

A really exciting Scotland U19s side tonight. Particularly excited to see more of Ryan Oné!

Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 19/11/2024
Last up is Marius Andresen who’s currently playing in the second tier in Norway. His defensive numbers are excellent but he’s probably the best attacking threat on the list. Energetic and consistent, his contract is up just before the January window starts.
110
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 19/11/2024
Benedek Varju plays for Bojan Miovski’s old club MTK Budapest. He can play as a right CB in a three at the back, a right back in a back four or a right wing-back in a back five. He’s another who’s athletic and aggressive, I think he suits Killie perfectly. His contract is also expiring.
110
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 19/11/2024
First up is Darragh Power from Waterford in the League of Ireland. He’s tall, powerful and loves a tackle, just like Ndaba does! He reads the game well and is an aggressive option for those games they have to spend the majority on the back foot. His contract is also about to expire.
110
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 19/11/2024
🧵 Now it’s Kilmarnock’s turn! I spoke to @LaurieFinlayson of @KFCView who suggested a new RB for Killie. I looked at players who would offer similar to Corrie Ndaba or could also play in a back three/five. Let’s look at them 👇🏻
231
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 19/11/2024
The last player probably has the highest ceiling in Kaur Kivlia. The 20-year-old spent the season on loan at FC Kuressaare. He’s conceded the most per game and has the least amount of clean sheets but also has the highest save rate in terms of percentage.
100
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 19/11/2024
Mantas Bertasius has an even better save rate than Maher at 75%. He’s conceded just over a goal a game but has also kept 13 clean sheets. He stands tall at 6’4 and is comfortable commanding the six-yard-box. He’s a Lithuanian international and his contract also expires this month.
100
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 19/11/2024
First off, it’s much harder to find footage of goalkeepers so having to rely on the stats more than usual! However, Brian Maher conceded less than a goal a game, kept 13 clean sheets and saved 3/4 penalties he faced for Derry. His 70% save rate is better than current number one Joe Bursik’s (59%).
100
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 19/11/2024
🧵 Now we’re on to Hibs and we’ve reached the half way mark! @AndyJeffrey16 suggested that the Hibees could be doing with a new goalkeeper.. Hard position to pick but I have three names that could solve a potential problem 👇🏻
142
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 18/11/2024
Last but not least is Reginaldo Ramires of Riga in Latvia. The Brazilian was ‘offered to Porto’ in the summer which seemed to be all agents effort. The chance to play in Europe could appeal to him though. He’s athletic and lethal in front of goal with an added touch of South American aggression.
121
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 18/11/2024
Next up is Bassekou Diabate who’s been in excellent form in Norway. He’s spent time in Poland and is a Mali international. He’s strong, powerful and can finish on both feet. He’s got the physical profile for Scottish football and Stabæk finished outside the play-offs so he may be looking to move.
111
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 18/11/2024
First up is former Croatian U21 international Dario Vizinger. Big things were expected of the striker but after a failed move in Austria he’s back in Slovenia and back amongst the goals! He’s a strong ball carrier that gets involved all over the pitch.
111
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 18/11/2024
🧵Now it’s time for Hearts and more strikers! @IrvingAnalysis suggested a striker that offered something a bit different to what Hearts currently have. So let’s look at three options I’ve picked out 👇🏻
246
Kai Watson @kaiwatson.bsky.social · 17/11/2024
For the final player we go to Macedonia to potentially add a mate for Babunski and Trapanovski! Harder to find data on Fiton Ademi but what you can see is that he gets goals! He’s always on the shoulder of the defenders looking for balls through and is composed in front of goal.
