Something that I really miss about older games was that handhelds and consoles used to have such a massive power gap that some games (often media tie-ins) got entirely unique handheld and home console experiences.

"B-but think of all the jobs!" is a bad defense. Nintendo's profit is and has been immense over the last decade to the point where they'd still massively profitable even without these things. So no, these things are not keeping people employed, they're only increasing shareholder bonuses.

If you ignore them being the first to push $80 games, game cards, the tiered subscription for NSO and retro games, the Palworld lawsuit, their attempts to destroy Switch and 3DS emulation, locking game content behind amiibos, joycon drift, etc. Let's be real, Nintendo is just as bad if not worse.

Nintendo is not a benevolent force. They do this because Japan actually has workers rights and Nintendo can't just layoff 1,000 people to further pad their margins. I promise you that many Japanese games publisher would pad their margins that way if they could.

If you're charging $1000 for what is essentially a game console, a controller should be included at the very least. Valve's refusal to take ANY loss on the Steam Machine is probably going to hurt the Steam Machine in the long run.

To further this argument, I'm not creating for a dumb audience, I'm creating for a smart audience. If I see someone misinterpreting my work because they don't know how subtext works, then they were never part of my intended audience to begin with and I see zero point in catering to them.

I'm very proud of what we've created and hope you like it enough that we get to make many more like it! This project was rejected for over a decade by all the major studios, but I refused to quit. Using AI for tracing or reference never works out because there are tons of little 'micro errors' that will make you a worse artist in the long run, especially when it comes to perspective as AI slop produces really inaccurate and uncanny perspective (especially if you look at backgrounds)

I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand: Cool. On the other: The core message of the last film was that it's time for Evangelion to end and that people need to move onto new things. It kind of makes them making a new Evangelion series feel like, I dunno, selling out if that makes any sense?

My dream game can be best described as Helldivers 2 but if it was built as a clone of Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005). I want PS2 graphics with MGSV character controls and for the game to use the processing overhead to support hundreds of NPCs so that you're in a legit virtual war zone.
