May is special for us because it's when we take extra time to celebrate research at @childrensmercy.org. As part of the celebrations, all month we're sharing responses from our colleagues about how their work is paving the way for a brighter future for kids. #ResearchMonth
This graphic has the following text on it: "How does your research pave the way for a brighter future for kids?". Answer from the Varberg Lab in the Fetal Health Center: "Our research paves the way for a brighter future for kids by uncovering how the placenta supports healthy development before birth. When we understand how placental development goes off-track, we can move toward earlier prediction and prevention of adverse pregnancy outcomes for kids."

🥳 🥳 🥳 for Ashley, Graduate Research Assistant, Varberg Lab. She received the STEMMy Student Achiever award this year! The STEMMy Awards were created to honor and celebrate the achievements of women in STEMM driving progress in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine in Kansas City.
Ashley stands behind a table holding a certificate. A balloon saying "congratulations" is on the table in front of her along with flowers and cookies.
