Reposted with alt text but this sums up the NSFW payment fiasco we’re all dealing with. Payment companies should not get to control what we spend money on.

What gets me about the Mastercard/Visa shit is this:
You are at the grocery store. You pick up a nice, girthy zucchini. You head over to the oils and pick up a thing of olive oil. Then a packet of condoms.
Satisfied with your selections, you head to the cashier. As you place the items on the conveyor, a voice shouts: "DON'T SELL THOSE!
THAT'S GOING UP A BUTT!"
And then for some reason, the cashier agrees. Then the guy who shouted, this fuckass guy in a suit, marches up to the counter and starts demanding that the store never sell any vegetables that could be put up a butt. He starts out pointing at the zucchinis and cucumbers and carrots, but you heard what he said: he's effectively banning every vegetable, just enforcing it selectively.
You ask the cashier if he's corporate or something. The cashier says no. The manager? No. He works here at least? No.
Who the fuck is he, then?
Well, the cashier explains, he's the bank manager from the next street over. He's taken up a moral crusade against vegetables that might go into rectums and if they don't obey him, he won't take anyone's paychecks or any money from any store that opposes him. And his bank is the only bank in the region, so it'd be a huge hassle for the business and the employees.
And somehow this dumb fucking scenario is real.

and like... bitch???? I'm no miracle worker , fuck you. the bizarre thing is that lots of these bosses were so unbelievably disconnected from the "Frontline job"/reality, they really believed we could appease the public... well, end of story time.

I remember in my job a particular meeting where the company changed a policy for the absolute worse, and it had an all time low review from users. we had to sit through so many meetings blaming us for it, "you're not being empathetic enough, if you talk just right you can convert the user l"

also, if my experience is similar to theirs, their supervisors etc are probably chewing them alive, as if the operators can do something to appease the public instead of admitting their bs policies are at fault.

- answers such as "illegal adult content", without being able to elaborate what was illegal about it. and even if they do know, answering would put their jobs on the line. again, hope we keep doing this, but I wish the regular worker wasn't the Frontline in this battle

it's been amazing seeing ppl calling mastercard etc, and I hope we continue doing so. But man, I do feel bad for the phone operators. Having worked as one, I'm absolutely sure they have no real information about what is going on, such as "y that specific content was banned", so they give generic -

ironically I was actually finally getting asleep, but this kept me awake with a burning fury for quite longer. I'm still pissed at that. the result came in tho, and welp, my sleep is still so unbelievably bad even after septum surgery that my doc was shocked that I function in any capacity at all 🫠

I did a polysomnography exam but had a lot of trouble getting to sleep. lady monitoring it came into my room to scold me bcs I was "too agitated" and needed to sleep ASAP. Like, yeah lady. Who would have thought that me, doing this exam cause my sleep is shit, would have trouble sleeping in a clinic
