I tried a new pochade box design for acrylics on vacation this year. It worked pretty well, with a watertight pill box for the paint and a lid slot with wing nuts. A seascape is attached to the lid of a homemade pochade box. There is a water tight pill container that holds each color, and a slot cut in the lid to accommodate tiny wing nuts. On the bottom part, I attached a piece of dry Masterson pallet paper with tape. I later found that wax paper works pretty well also. Overall about 8/10

The closed lids of the pill box work perfectly to keep the paint wet between sessions.

Cooch-Dayett Mills in Newark, Delaware. This is a historic grist and saw mill built in the 1830s. The corrugated metal towers are rusty and weathered. The main building is a colonial-style brick building with stone foundation. This mill is located just north of Cooch’s Bridge, the site of Delaware’s only “significant land battle” in the Revolutionary War.
