The basic fundamentals of drawing, painting and working through your ideas is to discover what works for that exact character, story and aesthetic. These preliminary sketches helped gestate my minds eye of the final outcome. Don’t let AI destroy your voyage and just skip to slop.

This was a bit of fan art I made after working on the independent feature #RogueTrooper. Hailing from the UK I've been an avid reader of the #2000ad comic for some time. The film is currently doing the festival circuit so please do go and check it out if you can. #illustration #animatedfilm

When you're in a world of deadlines, doing art that leads nowhere and has no specific outcome is good for the soul.

The spaceship from The Black Hole movie always fascinated me. Here’s an idea of a spacestation in a similar industrial style.

So proud to have contributed to two animated features at #Annecy Festival. Both Rogue Trooper and Monkey Quest challenged me as an artist in such varied and defining ways. Great to hear both films are getting such positive reactions. #conceptart #mattepainting #animation #Annecy2026

Wow! I do love the moment you discover an artist who you’ve never seen before but who feels so familiar. Sergio Toppi, absolutely sublime!

Rogue Trooper isn’t my first first foray into comic IP. The Batman and Black Widow were also interesting movies to help create. Sequential artwork however is something I have only briefly encountered. Back in 2013 I had a helping hand in an Irish mythological comic. www.artstation.com/artwork/2xX6a
