JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I wonder if, 20 or so years from now, no one will want to be a doctor anymore. We'll all just have to stand in front of some kiosk, type in our symptoms, get a robo diagnosis, and then a bunch of pills will fall out of a dispenser. 001
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 28/08/2026This is what @nflnetwork.bsky.social thinks is play by play: three guys eating pizza in the booth. 000
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 07/08/2026I guess I had some kind of crazy ambition a few months back when I got all this. Maybe next year. #Gardening 010
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Stratford Festival Day 2, Part II: The Tempest (w Ben Carlson standing in for Geraint Wyn Davies). Thee most jaw-dropping shipwreck scene ever. 000
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 18/07/2026Bought this by mistake one time and it's the absolute best. Put some on your eggs this morning. You're welcome. 010
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 04/07/2026I think you need to be over 50 years old to appreciate how good these are. Hated them as a little kid 000
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 27/06/2026Fun but uneven La Cage aux Folles at NY City Center. I've wanted to see Wayne Brady in an encores for DECADES. Glad he finally made it into one. Between Mame and La Cage, Jerry Herman has composed some of the most tear-jerking songs on Broadway ever, and yes, today I sobbed several times. 010
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 24/06/2026A bunch of Bach by a bunch of Bachs tonight. Jean Rondeau and Orchestra of St. Luke's. Non-stop music, quite literally. 110
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 16/06/2026Kind of a mob scene at "Raphael: Sublime Poetry" today @metmuseum.org 131
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 18/05/2026I'm guessing @dieworkwear.bsky.social would not be happy about this. 010
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 20/04/2026In case you didn't know, Ulysses S. Grant was kind of a hottie. 010
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 29/03/2026Two other people here remembering the Ivy Room in Durham NC 💪 000
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 14/02/2026Loved that they were back on book - like the Encores! of the old days. 020
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 27/12/2025104 years old. Plays the National anthem on the sax. Fantastic. #LGR #NYR #NewYorkRangers 000
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 11/12/2025Apparently I am the last person to figure out about using a timer for my outdoor Christmas lights. Not having to futz around with the cords and the plug in the dark twice a night! They come on by themselves!! I am living in the future. 110
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 04/12/2025Yesterday's outing. Solid cast, fantastic set design, but I didn't really connect with the play. Really meaty, PERTINENT subject matter but as a whole the work didn't deliver on the promised "explosiveness." 000
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 22/11/2025Wildly varied program (poorly reviewed by NYT) from Dutch National Ballet today w Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in attendance. Very appreciative audience - including the woman next to me who hollered & woot wooted at every spin, leap and pause. Looking at you Grand Tier, Row B 000
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 22/11/2025Oh my goodness, where to start about this book: a sweeping, epic, gorgeous, insightful, poignant, profound saga. 450+ pages just flew. Literally had to catch my breath when I finished. I'm certain producers are fighting hard over the film/ miniseries rights. Bravo Patrick Ryan. #BookSky 030
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 15/11/2025I have a theory that the worse the sentiment is in America the earlier people start decorating for Christmas. 130
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 01/11/2025This afternoon's outing. (I'm now old enough to appreciate a matinee.) 000
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 22/10/2025"Stop scrolling and post two characters who bring you happiness" 010
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 17/10/2025Unfortunately for me, the answer was 'yes'. Surprisingly. Just didn't connect with me tonight for some reason. ( And, hard to see anyone but Misha in those velour pants. IYKYK) 010
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 16/10/2025I'm not sure what the film does with this original material, but I recommend this collection of short stories. If you think you don't like short stories, try these anyway. In total, they read like a novel - a time travel through New England. #BookSky 020
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 11/10/2025So, Hofesh Shechter's Red Carpet -- Absolutely exquisite dancers. Truly extraordinary. But an assaultingly loud score. Horrible "lighting" design that obscured about 80% of the performance. Very intriguing and nuanced choreographic vocabulary but 75 minutes of it got to feel rather self-indulgent. 111
JB @jvmeter.bsky.social · 24/09/2025Second outing of the fall season. Must admit - I preferred the 1998 cast/production to this one. Marc: Bobby Cannavale. Then: Alan Alda Serge: Neil Patrick Harris. Then: Victor Garber Yvan: James Corden. Then: Alfred Molina 110
