Yes, I took that course. I've also taken many other online courses with Coursera and EdX. Astrophysics, Thermodynamics, biochemistry and mathematics. It was nice to "connect the dots" of disparate areas of my knowledge. And to flush out things I thought I knew, but really didn't.

No prior knowledge is needed. Just curiosity.

Wow ... spared no expense. 🙄

Motorcycles are awesome fun. I started with a Piaggio X9 I bought when I was 45 yo. That was a 250cc scooter. Next was a Honda VTR250. My last bike was a Honda NC700. Did heaps of touring. Up the east coast as far as Cairns and down to Tasmania. Great way to see the country.

Good for you! I joined the Air Force after school but it wasn't a good fit for my anti-authoritarian personality. Did a computing degree and just loved it. I built our home LAN when the kids were little, they helped with the cabling. Nowadays I'm into home automation using Home Assistant.

I'm a 65 yo retired IT guy. Doing my best to keep my brain and body active.

That's a shed load of grass to mow!

Our common sense is simply ill equipped to deal with physical phenomena on this scale. As Einstein said, "'Common sense is nothing more than a deposit of prejudices laid down in the mind before you reach eighteen."

We just switched from gas central heating to heatpump HVAC and hot water. Induction cooktop. Bought an EV that we charge from home. Solar and batteries too. High upfront cost, but we are already seeing our running costs diminish. Won't know how much we are saving until we get more data.

Fantastic car. Zero complaints. Good size, super comfortable, charge at home for free. In winter I'd turn on the heating (from the app) before heading out to the garage. Just the thing for a Canberra winter. Super cosy.

Building a bicycle wheel is an art.

Here in sleepy Australia, we are compelled to treat harmless e-bike riders as enemies of the state. It gives the old folks something to shake their fists at, I guess?

000

Excellent! Some Australian states have outlawed e-bikes that aren't EN 15194 compliant. Police can order their seizure and destruction.

Dude, get a better lock. Thieves around here use portable angle grinders to cut through locks.

Yes, they greenwashed the shit out of the story.
