I know signs don't vote, but we saw a LOT of Swanson signs along Highway 61 last week.

Tonight's movie: North by Northwest, in memory of Eva Marie Saint. I had not realized she won an Oscar for her first screen role in On the Waterfront. 🙀

A bar-hopper in NE Mpls can be Grumpy's, Lonely's, Dusty's & Terminal, all in one afternoon. 🤔

The dozen or so eateries just outside the mall may be a factor, as well as the fact that shopping malls just don't get the volume of foot traffic they did before the Internet.

There was only one place there I felt was worth the drive to Roseville, Betty & Earl's Biscuits (later renamed and revamped) It was started by Jason Matheson, the guy with the @fox9mn.bsky.social talk show

This is when we discovered that Danny Trejo just might be that bad guy SOB he's been playing for all these years.

Mrs. Lungs and I parked there for our last No Kings Day rally at the Capitol, and it looks like it really is our last. 😠

Spoke with a neighboor for the first time today. We have some things in common, including military service, a love of dogs, and a joined property line.

One of those "Oh my Dog, I didn't know she was still with us" moments, but wow, what an memorable path she blazed on the silver screen!

The fact that even now, David Brooks still identifies himself as a Republican tells us everything about his character and the common good that we need to know. www.mprnews.org/story/2026/1...

DFLer Jake Johnson, who is running against Brad Finstad in MN-1, has ads on teevee now. He makes no mention of his opponent or his own party affiliation.

There's not enough information in this story to understand what's going on, and clearly the guy who signed the order doesn't know either.

Bell Bank is the Fargo-based rival bank of the Grand Forks-based bank Mrs. Lungs worked for until retirement. They did NOT play well together.

Mrs Lungs just came up with a perfect Final Jeopardy question: "In the movie, 'The Last Picture Show,' what was the last movie shown at the Royal Theater before it closed?" Wrong answers only.

It should be noted that the US invaded Canada twice before, and they kicked our ass both times. 🍁

Yes, some batteries are safer than others, but context, folks. Don't buy shady, cheap ACME batteries and chargers, and ypu should be okay.

Just a reminder that whatever you are watching this right now is powered by the same type of batteries. 🙄

Some yahoo behind the wheel took out a utility pole in front of a daycare center near Stately Moffitt Manor. I have no idea if anyone was hurt, but the pole looks like it fell on the sidewalk. Compass Child Care, corner of University & 101st Ave.

Agree. My one gripe is they did not ID photographer John Abernathy in one image, calling him "a man." His arrest and tossing his camera to another photographer was covered around the world. www.huffpost.com/entry/john-a...

"Clyde Bruckman's Final Reponse," starring the late, great Peter Boyle, was arguably one of the best episodes of The X-Files. Bonus: It was set in Saint Paul, MN. #LocalAngle

The sports section on the printed page is all but useless now, and is very thin. The Gophers victory over Michigan should have been a page-one story (in sports), they settled with a single photo on an inside page.
