This tears my wife up. She really liked Ed. But now she is sad about how it all turned out. Ed could have backed his crew and pulled out of all venues owned by the Empire but instead chose to play them. The Alliance has many venues that, though smaller, align better with humanity.

They have learned from the gun industry that you just have to claim it’s the user and not the gun. Flooding the market with cheap semiautomatic pistols and rifles and then removing all laws that serve as barriers so that literally anyone can concealed carry. All about money and stock prices.

Very true. I had a 2-door 1980 Cutlass at the time and we were both in college. The Cutlass had some many things by then that didn’t work. The Concord had a/c but no heater. The Cutlass had a heater but the door windows wouldn’t seal. She was so happy when we could afford the Protege. Cheers

My wife had a brown 1980 Concord when I met her. Her dad made her buy it because he had a Hornet wagon and knew how to work on it. Rear wheel drive version with “leather”. After it set itself on fire for the 2nd time in 1993 we sold it for $50 and bought a Mazda Protege. She hated the Concord.

I worked for BMW/AMC/Jeep/Renault dealer back in 85-86 and really liked the Eagle but man did it go through gas. The Wagoneer has the same but those cars were great in the NJ winters. Subaru 4WD GL, Audi plus the BMW 325 iX came out in 85. The Eagle was old fashioned by then. Basically a Hornet.

Try pet dentistry. That is some crazy shit. Every year the vet would ask us to get $1500 worth of dentistry stuff done on our dog. Took her to another vet and they asked why it was required. Veterinarians seem to always tug on the heart sting for extra cash.

It’s some weird Appraised Value. Roughly $290/yr for a 2020 Leaf which has a market value of like $13K. Not cheap honestly. Really surprised that FL has none. I figured they would have brought the hammer down on the EVs.

We pay extra $75/yr tax each year we register in SC. Our Leaf EV is just a small hatchback and weighs the same as an Accord or Camry. That’s 7830 miles of equivalent road tax. About what we drive. Not the same as this Wankpanzer but we do pay the tax.

Honestly, they make money on both brands and they might act as halo cars but that wasn’t why VW succeeded in the past. I’m a car guy and if I had the kind of money needed, I’d get a Bentley Speed. I just think VW can do better with their mass market products instead of focusing on these.

What bothers me the most is the money VW throws at Lamborghini and Bentley instead of using that to build better products for their mass market division. Now they are going to have layoffs but I doubt the high end will see any job cuts due to billionaires.

Was a very sad and strange day. I took the last Avis rental car (Pontiac Grand Am) from Ohare and drove home to Oklahoma City. Quiet on the roads and no aircraft in the sky. USAF deployed us to Turkey then K2, Uzbekistan. Airevac Liaison. Surreal experience but just part of my past now.

I also remember them being with us in the combat zone and how Canadian sniper teams worked hand in hand with our troops. Hell, in Feb 2002, I saw troops from all over the world supporting us. Our govt has squandered all that good will over the last 25 years.

VW missed the market so badly due to pricing, quality, and product brought to the US market. The EV Polo was perfect for the US yet, it’s not here. The EV Golf was comparable to the Nissan Leaf yet cost more with lower range. Just so many missteps.

We have had our 2020 Nissan Leaf for 5 years now and the maintenance have been virtually zero. Cabin air filter and wipers are something I do. I have put a new set of tires on it. Plus a battery. We did get a warranty replacement of the main battery at 25K miles but that was free. Win
