And we lost a student today who I know and whose sisters I taught and why can’t I just live in this little tv village? It’s a lot but I’m ok. Tomorrow so many of my students, I have to be there for them. Not the first time I’ve experienced this but it’s never easy especially for the kids.

Treated my Intro to Film Studies kiddos to Poltergeist (1982) to practice describing frames, shots and scenes. They were not prepared for the tree, the clown, the closet, the pool scene, or Tangina. Now they can vibe with their parents’ childhood trauma.
