Hot on the heels SunBurst I give you MoonStruck. Ostensibly the same 12 feet steel string acoustic guitar but made from Indian Rosewood and Birdseye Maple. Here are the first 12 triangles of the back being glued together.

Sunburst is finished. It plays really well but will need a month to get used to its new strings. After that I will give it a good set up and see if I can't find a buyer.

I love the river flowing through the headstock.

If you’re going overboard on design then enjoy the water. Extending the sunburst theme onto the sides has been time consuming fun. Bending sides is tricky enough, bending laminates is a whole new game. The finished result is better than I had a right to expect.

More sunburst on the end keeping the grain lines flowing through.

The sides, not yet attached to the rear of the guitar.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social The answer to you Starmer question is simple. The only way to solve the straits of hormuz is Peace. Regime change is chaotic and holds no guarantees. Peace, history shows us, is the only way to make things better. Will joining in as aggressor bring us peace? No!

The next build is called Sunburst. 72 flamed maple and padauk wedges glued together to make the most delicious back panel of this OM cutaway, 12 fret to body acoustic guitar. The wedges are all cut to maintain the vertical grain direction across the panel. #luthier #acoustic
