The 3D scanning water tank, which was used to measure a linac, was replaced and decommissioned. I spent the summer repairing it, knowing full well it would be gone soon. I took the hand pendant, because it looks cool and would be a shame to get rid of.

The colours are high contrast and sort of clash, with different shades of blue and yellow. It's a product of its times and those times were clearly the 80s. There is a hint of the curly cable that is attached to it

It took the entire work day, but I was able to free the printer. There's some damage, but I have to rebuild it to know how much damage exactly.

The 3D printer with the entire gantry removed. There are bits of plastic and a screw driver on the bed of the empty looking printer. The cloud of plastic is no where to be seen.

Two yellow-coloured, lightbulb-shaped, bike racks. They even have a filament inside the lightbulb, which is cute but clearly not energy efficient

[Worm] There was a giant worm in one of my gardens! I think I'm doing something right. Key for scale because I don't grow bananas

A very fat worm only partial out of the ground, with my keys beside it for scale. The worm was over half a centimeter in diameter. The exposed length of the worm was around 25 centimeters

[Surprise in my door peephole] This spider was ridiculously close to my eye. I really wish I had enclosed peephole for reasons that weren't that obvious before

A spider that is in the tube of my door's peephole. The spider was actually a bit large for the tube and stretches the entire length of the peephole (which I guess is pretty much the thickness of rhe door).

This is exactly what I saw when I took the cover off, where the nut is sitting right on top of the connector of the motor that wasn't working.

A bunch of ribbon cables that are plugged into a vertical board via a white connector. On top of one connector, there is a nut just sitting there, like it's a hat.

Hmmm. It's been a day. The coupler was fine before and now looks like jiffy pop. The weird thing is that the coupler is turning a pot, which I would have put my money on failing before the coupler.

The inards of a 90s Swiss made servo. There is an aluminum semi flexible coupler going between a high percision wire wound pot and brass fitting, which in turn is attached to a DC motor via a belt. Various bits of electronics, foam and bearing can be seen as the housing has been completely removed. A bright twist of many different coloured wires comes out the bottom, which was the style of the time

Same servo with the case removed again, but the coupler is damaged to the point of no longer coupling and sheared in the middle. Just sharp twists of metal are left in the middle, with the other ends of the couplers still firmly attached.

I found my class photo from grade 6 on an old hard drive

The is a photo of my grade 6 class, which was a 5/6 class. The students are in the gymnasium in three rows. The teacher is standing on the right, between the last and middle row, I guess to make sure you don't confuse her as a student. All the kids, including myself, look goofy. There are a lot of ugly sweaters. My eyes are closed in the photo. I still know a lot of these goofy kids.

It seemed random, but there was a book about Mark Lewis at my dentist's office. I really liked this image, which I think said it was a still from a film. Even just seeing a $2 bill throws me decades into the past.

Things went well and I'm pleased. There is still room for improvement, but I'm happy with this sourdough loaf. This was baked in an enameled roasting pan
