For the record, I didn't choose to dress like this in 1985, my mother chose my clothes ;)

Did you ever use a Microsoft Windows Phone? I don't mean "Windows Mobile." I mean Windows Phone 7.x and 8.x which existed between 2010 & 2016. Even if you never touched one of these devices, watch the video below to see why this mobile operating system has many fans. youtu.be/VLYOXa2mXmc

Been eating Drakes Devil Dogs for 45 years. I ate recently that tasted awful. Upon examination, I found mold on it. Opened more, some others also had mold. The expiration date on both the wraps & box said I had 3 more weeks. This administration has deregulated EVERYTHING. Nothing is safe to eat.

For me, technology stopped being fun around 2016. It coincided with the death of Windows Phone, the rise of Ai, and tech overloads buying the United States government.

A lot of people bought a lot of music from record clubs. In the United States, the most successful club was Columbia House. It lasted for decades with offers that seemed too good to be true. On a new episode of the Retroist Podcast I take a look at its history. www.retroist.com/p/retroist-c...

Columbia House ad for 8-tracks. A person has a box of 8 tracks are exploding outward. She seems pretty appy about it.

Found a photo of myself from either 1978 or 1979. Getting passed the fact that I was a smoker at 2 or 3 (I'm kidding), I dig the 70s atmosphere - linoleum floors, dated upholstery, and vintage clothing.

Snacks delivered by robot are snacks delivered in style.

A smiling couple sits on a couch as a Tomy Omnibot carries two drinks and a bowl of snacks on its serving tray.

I have had a lot of jobs in my life, but one of the first ones I actually liked was working at Suncoast Motion Picture Company. So I thought I would share some of my memories and talk about the too short history of the video store at the mall. www.retroist.com/p/suncoast-m...

I made this thinking Boomers would get a kick out of it, but now I'm thinking, they will not. For people who know The Substitute sketch by Key & Peele AND the song "Denise" by Randy & The Rainbows, this is for you.

@statuscoupnews.bsky.social Update: Due to the huge number of RSVPs—and Thursday’s Knicks parade which means that parade infrastructure is taking up space at our original rally location. We are moving two blocks away to Foley Square (Corner of Worth and Lafayette Street).

On a new Retroist Podcast I talk about Perfect Strangers. It is easy to remember it as Balki saying things wrong and Larry getting worked up, but the show is much more than that. Its a buddy comedy, vaudeville act, and an eighties sitcom machine running full speed. www.retroist.com/p/retroist-p...

Larry is wearing a green sweater and leaning in from the left, while Balki is smiling in a red shirt on the right. The text at the bottom reads “Retroist Perfect Strangers Podcast.”

On an all new Retroist Podcast, I fire up the ol’ NES and Sega Genesis, because it’s time to talk about the Game Genie. It made old games feel new again, and it also sparked a court case that helped define what players could do with games they owned. www.retroist.com/p/retroist-g...
