I still only ever made one of those meme videos. It was fun, but you gotta be in a certain head space to come up with things on the regular. Here was my one: youtu.be/9Z_KShjNLMA?...

I adored that song as a kid, my friend, and I must say I had NO CLUE where you were going with that!

I left the US in March 2016. Thinking about what that country has become since: who it ceded power to, twice; who it is harassing & kidnapping & killing. It’s awful. I know I have the privilege of being out. But with that comes the understanding I can’t speak on it as much, as I’m not as affected.

Amazon or indie game sites where I live tend to have discounts after a while. I try to buy new if I can, but I’ve picked up a few games on eBay lately (Pocky & Rocky, Mushihimesama, Marvel UA 3).

The meta narrator gimmick really appeals to me. Copped even though I own it (unplayed) on Steam.

You can see how seriously the team took Sony’s edict.

011

Justin Leeper @justinleeper.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Did you know? Sony demanded that any PSP ports had to contain significant exclusive features that only appeared on that version. Not a bad idea, but the results weren’t usually impressive - especially as PSP’s popularity waned.

Japanese CIB copy ran me ¥1250 ($8?) on Amazon Japan.

TIL about chickens’ - specifically Red Roosters’ - knees.

Still, that character creator is unique. Like a make-your-own Picross 3D puzzle.

Dang. One of the few games that remains a PS3 exclusive.

Justin Leeper @justinleeper.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

In the last year, I got a Japanese copy while visiting there and reunited with my American copy when I went back to the US. It’s a quality game from what I remember, though the voxel character creator was more memorable than the Zelda/Neutopia-clone gameplay.

UFO 50! One of the games on it I’ve played < 1 hr but still recognize

Justin Leeper @justinleeper.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

You could be right. They probably want to take advantage of early adopters before dropping the price 2 months later (or less). But by then, haven’t a lot of potential customers moved on to playing other games & got hyped about newer releases? Also, the lack of Greatest Hits anymore is a shame.

Justin Leeper @justinleeper.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Game dev here. I think games should be cheaper so more people can afford them and take a chance on them. 2 million people paying $40 for your game earns you more money than 1 million paying $70. Then you have more fans who’ll post about it, wait for the next game, buy merch, buy the DLC, etc.

Before my 5-year stint as a working actor in Japan (which ended 5 yrs ago), I did a few things in LA - like appearances on Arrested Development and Justified.

What’s your high in Megabonk? How many hours do you have? I’m about 69k and 270 hrs.

Looks like a Chuck Varga piece - a founding member of GWAR (playing the character of Sexecutioner) who sadly passed away last week.

Nothing more appetizing than monochrome newsprint!

I think they’re important as well, but they also don’t stop a game from loading. I’ve been told by production that bigger issues weren’t getting fixed.

I’ll share when it’s published/wrapped/paid for. A nice surprise story with a happy ending and maybe an origin story if people are interested. But until then: an NDA for my own mental health’s sake.

Justin Leeper @justinleeper.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

When you share news of an opportunity you’ve received or goal you have, which doesn’t pan out, it’s no fun having to share news of the failure - even with people you love. I’ve dialed back on telling people. Maybe it’s just me; I hate being cheered only to let people down. I’d rather not be cheered.

Thanks. I’m sure I’ll return to it someday. There seems to be a couple respected romhacks with QOL updates.

Justin Leeper @justinleeper.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I’ve avoided buying it - despite SotN being in my all-time top 5 and never having played Rondo - because I hear it’s a crummy port. Any truth to that?

Overall feeling about it? I’ve tried a few times but it’s never stuck with me.

That time I had PAC tell the player something Stephanie McMahon said to my face while interviewing for a job in her office.

AEW announces the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka PAC. We send our condolences to his family, friends, and fans.

PAC was one of my favorite wrestlers - a throwback to the Dynamite Kid, but a gentleman outside the ring. I’m shocked to hear he passed away, a mere day after he wrestled on a big AEW show.

Chuck Varga, aka GWAR’s Sexecutioner, passed away after battling cancer. I shared a stage with Chuck 2x when I was with GWAR, but he treated me far better than he needed to - like a fellow stuntman. Any time he hit the stage, he slayed. He was a dynamic performer, a talented artist & a great man.

Mildly interesting: There was 1kg of solid ice in the back of my fridge. And contained with it in were 4 condiment pods: letchup & mayo.

Where my off-the-beaten path gamers at? Who can I talk to about my 100% Pipistrello run, my progress in Mina the Hollower, and my excitement for Well Dweller? Reddit doesn’t cover chitchat so much.

Justin Leeper @justinleeper.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

I’d but that for a dollar - or ¥400.

010

Justin Leeper @justinleeper.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Also, I picked this game up despite being in the middle of Mina the Hollower and having not begun my installed copy of Crypt Custodian.

Birds that divebomb people, do they really make contact? Or is it all about intimidation? Of course, swans are renowned assholes, but I mean sparrows and stuff. Just wanna be ready for the inevitable time one of them wants to FAFO on me… Not that I’m robbing robin nests or anything.

Bought a half-dozen vintage band shirts on eBay Live, then today I chopped off the sleeves to make several of them gym shirts: GnR, Nirvana, Sublime. Wearing Guns & Roses now. Feels/looks good, and the art is the same as a shirt I had as a kid!

I hope my IGA business card is still in my possession somewhere. Did you know longtime Kojima producer Imaizumi-san was a CG artist on SotN?

Some of my favorite t-shirts in my vast collection were Onion shirts. “Your favorite band sucks” is one I bought twice.

I’m a huge fan of #HotlineMiami. Kusan: City of Wolves is the first game I’ve played that captures its spirit: adrenaline-fueled, overhead twinstick mayhem. I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about it. I played the demo on PS5 & immediately bought it. Very cool so far!

000

Justin Leeper @justinleeper.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

I bought Pipistrello & the Cursed Yo-yo when Mina the Hollower launched, cuz it was on my wishlist & on sale. Now that I’ve 100%’d Pipistrello, time for Mina.. Which, in my first session, looks blockier (GBC vs GBA), moves slower, and is much harder (enemy AI is no joke). Just first impressions.
