Only 5 teams with an average age of 28 or older have made it past the 2nd round of the playoffs since 2021. The caveat is 3 of those teams (Bucks, Celtics, Knicks) won the championship. Still, loading up on players in their mid 30s is not a recipe for success in this era

Windows in this era are 3 years. This was the 3rd year in that window for OKC. Chet and J-Dub's extensions kick in this summer and as it stands now they're $30M over the 2nd apron with several trades inevitable. They'll still be good because they have Shai, but this era is over
