The Cortex Walker, inspired by some particularly cruel science fiction, was Corporate's latest attempt to demoralize the rebel factions. While impractical from a mechanical perspective, the psychological impact of firing on captured allies could not be understated. 32/100

That's cool. Unfortunately, it's just the wild west out here in the US. I had someone at a bar who had their phone call alert be flashing lights. And they just held their phone at eye level without answering it because they were talking to friends at their table. Definitely a menace. 😅

I'm trying to decide which of these I should cover in a shorter - "Hey, here's a cool thing I like!" What do you think? 1. Pontypool (2008) 2. Butterfly Kisses (2018) 3. The Devil's Candy (2015) 4. The Exorcist III (1990)

Trans werewolf energy 🌕🏳️‍⚧️ [ #cuteart #trans #furryart ]
A cute brown werewolf standing on one hind paw, with their front paws raised to their face. In one they are holding a trans flag. The werewolf is winking and its mouth is open in a smile, one snaggletooth showing. They are wearing tattered blue shorts and have top surgery scars. Behind the werewolf is a moon, with pink & blue sparkles over it. The whole background is orange.

This is a reminder that: - trans women are women and trans men are men - sex work is work - food, housing, and medical care are human rights, not profit machines - cancer can fuck off right into the sun If you disagree on any of these points, you too can fuck off into the sun.

And don't even get me started on the Pontypool novel! This is a case where the movie is better, unequivocally.

That's how the virus is supposed to spread. It kinda reminds me of the fridge logic associated with Inception. Where the rules change halfway through because it looks cool, rather than what they've shown previously.

Like labelling Ken Loney as a pedophile, that becomes the thing he's remembered for in Sydney's "obit." So the movie is showing people misspeaking and losing their minds, they talk like they truly understand the word, but it's actually about how we are too quick to label things we don't understand.

is when a concept becomes corrupted by mislabeling it. In this case, it's that these zombies are immediately identified as insurgents and a political uprising. And just by calling them that, it completely breaks everyone's understanding of what's actually happening.

What we see in the film is actually that it's when someone mis-speaks, or trips over a word and tries to correct themselves, that they get stuck on that idea, mixing up their language until they drive themselves insane. From what I've found, the idea that's going on in the background of all this...

Obviously this is going to be a spoiler discussion . . . The only way to "cure" a word, is to mix it up and make it nonsense. Doctor John Mendez fixes himself by switching to a different language, even though he's way too excitable to share that with our leads. However, there are two big caveats.

I love Pontypool, and will probably be doing a video on it soon (finally!). But I really noticed this last time that the movie is talking about what's happening backwards. The way it describes it (in the final act) is that it's when you understand a word, that word gets infected.

I went through the whole ADA process, got punished for it, etc. while working for the city. They didn't address a single thing. Even something as simple as "Can I move my desk forward a few seats so I don't have so many screens in my field of view?" or "Can I use my health breaks for my migraines?"

And it STILL has never been addressed or fixed. Why would I upgrade to W11 if my least favorite bug still hasn't been addressed there? I also think of emergency vehicles (flashing lights at night are killer for me), fluorescent bulbs, and multiple screens in my FOV are all such specific issues.

One of the biggest sources of flashing lights is a bug with Windows 10 AND 11 that, if you're computer is too fast and you're using dark mode, the computer opens every window in light mode, then converts to dark mode. This results in a flashing light with every opened program, folder, website . . .

I do kinda feel hopeless when I think about how little people care about flashing lights and what that can do to light sensitive people. There are so many things that trigger my migraines, but it's such an "invisible" disability that most people won't do anything about it to mitigate the problem.

I also create Karaoke tracks using an AI that allows me to pull vocals out of normal songs. They are immediately claimed, which means the artists will make money off any time someone watching them. Check them out at Cryptic Karaoke on Youtube. www.youtube.com/channel/UCr7Njs0XtHQYpaRUboKewSQ

So I made a 45 minute video about one of my favorite horror movies of all time. The Night House (2021) has an amazing connection to the Hellraiser series, both in its initial concept and the story at its heart. youtu.be/lvORhv-nxQA?...

For some reason this film never appealed to me but if it inspired literally anyone to spend 45 minutes talking about it I'm suddenly sold. Adding it to the list along with your video!

Here's (technically) the original thumbnail I made. I love this so much, but it really hasn't been performing, so time to play some jazz!
