I am absolutely taking recommendations for weird games for spooky month, incidentally. Only things to keep in mind are that I was a horror streamer in the mid-2010s and I think if I see another first person narrative experience with light puzzle elements I will become a mass of bees and fly away

It's by no means comprehensive, but I made a basic guide for people starting FFXI fresh right now! It covers some basic best practices once you're in the game, some settings I recommend changing, and more. It'll be on my blog eventually but for now, here you go:

Ras is tiny, and she often jokes about it, infuriating larger opponents with quips about being beaten by someone half their size

Playing Toon Town to get ready for a friend's stream tomorrow, and there are so many quality of life things that I would love it if other MMORPGs had? Like you can join a battle with other randoms on the overworld and it puts you into a party temporarily that disbands when the encounter ends. 10/10

Ras throws herself completely into diplomacy, recruiting Fordola to take her place on the battlefield while putting the best armies and gear money can buy at her disposal. She's tempted to take up Wuk Lamat's offer of a position in government but declines to avoid attaching herself to any one nation

Had to get this out of my head before bed. This is pretty close to how I expect my first couple takes on Radiant Typhoon Joey to look. Does everything you'd expect it to, but I really do want to find a way to get it down to 40. Side deck TBD pending the format I'm playing it into

Doubling down on talking about how FF14 is a games about how people always suffer when oligarchs starts wars of choice and pointing out every time the game deals with colonialism and isn't nice about it. Tripling down on how hand made games are the best and AI will never replace us.

And I promise you, any version of the video or stream that I didn't make that most people might bring up has a very comfortable seat on the writer's room's cutting room floor. That commented idea didn't even make it to production.

Hey so I don't generally get super political in the Talking About Politicians sense because it's just not my skill set, but it really sucks to know that the only reasonable choice last federal election was to vote for the people who *would* beat the nazis, and it put a turbo capitalist in charge

I hate that a cartel of big companies are allowed to hoard memory in order to destroy the market for consumers and smaller businesses, so the same big companies can then sell cloud solutions instead. I can't say what should happen to them, because that would get me banned. Wish we had any recourse.

So in no uncertain terms, I actually think this is going too far against Kewl Tune, given what's about to come out. Omega and Shifter had to go. Radiant Typhoon is dying for Zoo and Striker's sins. I actually play F&V at 2 sometimes anyway. I don't really know what I wanted but it wasn't this.

It just hit me that a big part of why I like the current Advanced format in Yu-Gi-Oh is that its basically Invasion of Chaos 2. Not much archetypal play, lots of Light and Dark monsters, lots of decks playing for value rather than tempo
