Whilst I love a tech sticker I find the message of this one incredibly confusing
Sticker with a photo of a bullet, below which it says "Linux" and below that the text "give me a target". The ink on the right of the sticker seems to have somehow bled together reducing the legibility of the text.

Apparently when it's your turn to host stand-up shouting "WHAT'S UP CHAT" is not an appropriate way to start it 🤷‍♂️

Any recommendations for good couch co-op games for the PS5? Tried Diablo 3 but it just felt like button mashing!

I could swear I saw someone on this site say a while ago there are like a million cases of Covid in the US a week and I just couldn't find any data that was anywhere near that number. I will choose NOT to believe somebody on the Internet lied and instead ask - anyone got any sources I could check?

Courtesy of weirdwalk on the (former) bird website
The Vince McMahon chair meme, the last image being his eyes glowing. The reactions are escalating from "a long countryside ramble", "to an ancient sacred site", "with standing stones", "steeped in folklore", "called The Devil's something or other"

Saw my first bit of transphobia today on Bluesky. What makes it especially weird is it feels like my feed is usually entirely made up of trans people - how did they sneak in?!

Puberty blockers: what are they and why are they in the news?

Open Letter to the Health Secretary
We're appalled that Wes Streeting plans to continue the Tories' ideological ban on puberty blockers. This move is not in the best interests of young trans people, and we will need the full unity of th...

You know this site is a small community when my feed is filled with people reacting to drama and everyone is referring to each other by their first names. Buuuuuut if there's a "Bluesky drama explainer" account I can follow please let me know!

Terry Pratchett was a hell of a writer.
Quote from 'Guards, Guards!' by Terry Pratchett. "You tell them a lie, and then when you don't need it any more you tell them another lie and tell them they are progressing along the road to wisdom. Then instead of laughing they follow you even more, hoping that at the heart of all the lies they'll find the truth. And bit by bit they accept the unacceptable. Amazing."

Libraries fill in the gaps that government has deliberately vacated. They are essential, but seemingly perputually under threat. www.theguardian.com/news/article... #Libraries

‘If there’s nowhere else to go, this is where they come’: how Britain’s libraries provide much more than books
The long read: In 2024, libraries are unofficial creches, homeless shelters, language schools and asylum support providers – filling the gaps left by a state that has reneged on its responsibilities

Not sure why BBC News today subjected me to this lovely image of someone holding a hairdryer up to a toad
Nigel Farage, dressed as a mockery of a country gent with a wax coat and flat cap, clings to the rail of an open topped bus, one hand meekly starting to cover his face while said face is contorted into the sort of grimace that Harry Enfield would call "over the top"

Why are they so sassy though?
A "slippery when wet" warning sign. A stick figure has its legs splayed out like the mouth of a cartoon duck and their hands stretched out to each side, like extravagant "jazz hands".

Finally figured out a use for AI I can actually get behind: fill in the frames between those terrible 0.5 frames per second slow motion shots you'd see in films from the 70s and earlier. Every time I see it I think "why did you do this?"

My partner and I have been chatting about this over the past few days. From a scammer's perspective the success of this will almost certainly mean we will see more examples like this. /1

Wish I was one of those neurodivergent people that was also secretly an artist, rather than one of those neurodivergent people who also secretly has a giant box of unsorted cables.

You know what I absolutely LOVE? Connecting to the guest WiFi, handing over my personal data, accepting the terms and conditions - and then finding out the WiFi doesn't even work.
