It's awful out there and seems to be getting worse. I'm big on the eye contact thing and this is what I teach my kids. It's not ideal, but it's what we gotta do. Both from a safety perspective and a reminder that on both sides, there are humans.

Observed a lady watching YouTube exiting Dutch Village Rd. She was in the right turning lane onto Joe Howe, then proceeded to go straight through (which if unclear, is not correct!). Just in her own little world while driving a large SUV.

It seems the fundamentals of what you and your team achieved at Dunbrack/Lacewood was also applied at Dunbrack/Washmill? Were you involved in that too? I recall that was a mess and now it's so smooth & safe, especially good as there's lot of kids walking that way to school.

I suspect many streets in this city are wanna-be quiet residential but are also multi-use in their nature (cars/bikes/walking)

Whenever I cycle through Vernon my issue is that I am focusing on too many variables: parked cars, vehicles behind me, and vehicles cutting through the side streets. It feels quite busier than other bikeways (Liverpool/Maynard) Why haven't we just built a bi-directional protected lane here?

Wow that's out there! My friend, a recent cycling convert (about 2 years now dedicated) bikes to Burnside for work (from Albro Lake area) and it looks ... questionable, but he says he makes it work. I would love to make the trip one day to explore, though.

8 cyclists at the corner of Almon & Robie today around 4:30, 4 of those were kids (of varying ages). Change is happening but to most it looks invisible cause we're free flowing around this city on our #BikeHfx wheels.

I'm not really a conspiracy guy (we live in a simulation we know it anyway ;)) but I am growingly convinced the Morris St. bike lane is a psyop to distract away from projects that will have actual impact (e.g. building bike infra into and on the boundaries of the peninsula)

My friend works for NSPower. They were told to move that pole near Rufus. They moved it about half a foot per city instruction, curve is still there. Very curious what the city is doing there.

That all said they are 10x better than what we had before. The neighborhood is changing in a positive way. Too bad we have the relics of Giant Tiger and Boss plaza to deal with (from an infra perspective — GT is great to have and so are all the shops in Boss)

Improved access to development data is great. But my goodness this is the last thing the city should be spending money on. Make the data open/easy to access, some else will build the app (and do it better)

Thanks for sharing. We were thinking of what to do after KidicalMass to take advantage of the beautiful day. A couple more Fringe shows were on our list, but this may take it. Was it chaotic/crowded or did it feel decently organized? (understood its an inaugural event)
