anguish, torture and all circles of hell actually. fucking let me draw my OCs!!!!!

little meme drawing by galacticjonah. Showing a little guy in distress, scribbling on some paper. Text around them says: Plagues by visions of "The Character" (but also art blocked). Around the main figure are others, blurry and fading, bodies in various poses of anguish.

I saw an infographic a couple years ago about how to remove source identifiers from links and why it's important, but I can't find it again and too many people I know are sending me links with them so here's an infographic straight from the oven

Header text: "HEY YOU! YES YOU! TAKE THIS SHIT OUT OF LINKS!"

This is followed by a couple example urls, with a red square highlighting the sections with source identifiers. The rest of the text is as follows:

Source identifiers are used to track your activity on a site. Where you came from, what device you use, and even who you talk to. Whether it's written clearly in the url or tied to a random string of characters, it's assigned to your activity.

When you send a link containing a source identifier to somebody and they click it, it signals to the website that you two are connected. And that data goes right back to the website operators, and thus their advertisers.

Whenever you select "share" or "copy link" on a social app or website, it creates a link like this. If you give even the smallest shit about online privacy, it's important to remove them. Everything after the "?" symbol can be removed without issue, especially sections starting with "si=" or "utm_source="

Knight & Baby accurately exemplifies how overseas editions of Japanese games can mute, distort or altogether supress that which the original editions had to offer. How these lovingly sculpted scenes could be replaced by a marginally competent 3D render defies all common sense.

Japanese game cover design is widely admired by players, a true craft they have perfected over the years. In an effort to make their product stand out, many studios explored a more tactile range of materials. The resulting effect is as amusing today as it is instantly nostalgic.🧵

No one's stopping anyone from still doing these. Free forum communities like proboards still exist. Journal communities like dreamwidth still exist. One problem is most people won't put in the effort to be active in those spaces so they die quickly. Socmed has effectively taken over and+

i had no idea how fun cyno is to write. i would've never written him if not for this zine and its rng 🫡

A screen snip of a genshin impact fanfiction. It reads as follows,
“We’re air frying,” Cyno added.
“Air… frying?” Kazuha repeated, the name of the principle ridiculous, “no wonder the wind is angry today. You’ve been frying it.”
“I don’t understand how frying the air makes it angry. Doesn’t electro swirl with anemo?” Sethos was puzzled. “Cyno, you’re from Spantamad, you should know this stuff.”
On command, Cyno began to expound with authority, “anemo energy may be perceived as having a higher rate of personification since, by its nature, it accumulates more disparate anthropological data, simulating consciousness in a manner congruent with typical beliefs on our shared reality.”
“Is that so…? How intriguing,” Neuvillette hummed, losing himself in deep cogitations.
“It’s a popular hypothesis, but studies are inconclusive due to small sample sizes,” Cyno added noncommittally.
“Then that doesn’t help at all!” Sethos threw his hands up.
“You can imagine how useful my education is within the Matra.” It was hard to tell if Cyno was implying that this was a good or bad thing." /end ID

here's the full piece I wrote for the genshin zine Tempest! this version is literally 3x as long as the zine-ver, but both are unique, so be sure to check em both out! read NOW to find out how gliding & TCG brings 4 weirdos together✨ archiveofourown.org/works/65423638 #genshinimpact #zine #genshin

A screen snip of a section of genshin impact fanfiction, reading as follows,
"After a mistaken rescue operation, Kazuha finds himself in the awkward but refined company of none other than Neuvillette. However, the two are quickly roped into assisting Sethos and Cyno as they try to complete an advanced gliding maneuver to reforge their brotherly bonds. Along the way, the gang discovers the power of friendship... as depicted by TCG novels?!

(Work done for Tempest, a free RNG zine speedrun! What does that mean? It means I had little to no time to write this and little to no control over what characters I could use in the fic. The project was a blast, so be sure to check it out!)"
There is a break detailing Notes that exist at the end of the work, after which the story begins, reading as follows,
"The colossal falls near Romaritime Harbor drowned out even the loudest of voices, making it hard for Kazuha to hear the Crux crew’s bellowing hollers. Even Beidou’s booming call hardly crested over the rolling roar, and it was this exact reason that saw him taking a trip away from the crew.

There were few things more annoying than a swarm of pirates screaming ‘ HUH’ , and ‘ WHAT’ at steadily increasing volumes.

Many of the Fontainian porters there wore ear-protection as part of their daily attire, on account of the continent-spanning falls. With his own ear muffs on, it wasn't so bad. Kazuha liked the reverberations in his sternum; the way the elevator to the upper harbor sang like a giant wind chime." /end Id
